  1. I agree, I like DeSmith but to me, he is purely a backup I think he struggles when given multiple starts.
  2. For sure the Playoffs is what it's all about, but you can't forget about the future too. This is the first real year that we have made the playoffs and we dumped a 1st, Kuzy, that defensemen I'll call him B cause I can't remember how to spell his name and potentially a 4th. If we resign Lindholm that goes a long way to making this better but if not, then what we dump more futures next year before the playoffs and before you know it we have no future and we are looking at another 10 year rebuild. I'm not apposed to going all in but the timing has to be right, IMO the timing is at least a year too early. I think we should have done a couple smaller moves, seen how we do and maybe make the big push next year, in a bubble this trade isn't so bad, I get that. It's what it signals in the future that bothers me. How many more years are we going to trade our first +++ for a push before we are back to 2015 level hockey? If Lindholm re-signs with us that makes this much better, but the amount of futures we spent on a rental that scares me a bit. I look at it like this, if you can't afford to go on a big holiday you don't, you go on what you can afford, you don't just go on a big holiday anyways and put it all on a credit card, cause your going to have to pay for it eventually and now it's going to cost you more. IMO the Canucks couldn't afford it yet, they are close to being able too, but they jumped the gun IMO. Maybe they win the Cup this year and I'm wrong that's ok, I will be thrilled to be wrong. There is a time for these types of moves, IMO this just isn't it. I've been watching this team for over 40 years and while it's fun to go on a nice holiday, the only thing that matters to me anymore is winning the CUP at least once before I die and premature moves like this IMO just put that goal a little farther away.
  3. Not really your just thinking short term, I have no problem with Lindholm he's a good player, we just paid way to much for him and it's going to hurt us in the long-term and possibly really badly.
  4. That might have been the most incredible hockey game I've ever seen, so proud of the boys, and wow Brock you the man.
  5. Conor Garland, JT Miller, Connor Brown, Sam Lafferty, Eetu Luostarinen, Gavin Bayreuther Nicholas Paul, Rasmus Asplund, Gabriel Fortier Brock Boeser Jalen Chatfield, Adam Fox, Nick Jensen, Connor Mackey, Kasper Puutio @Gator @Relyt Krets
  6. I'm also in Ontario but about an hour out of Toronto.
  7. Me too, not because I am down on Desmith I think he is an excellent back-up, but I don't think he can handle the workload of a starter, but maybe a 1a-1b situation can work till Demko returns.
  8. With what we paid for Lindholm I think from a management side anything less then WCF would be a pretty big failure, me personally with what we paid SCF, but I feel like we will likely be out in the 1st or second round. But you never know this team could jive and go all the way so hard to tell. I think Miller will be a beast in the playoffs, if Peterson can come close to matching Millers intensity we could win it all. Since the all-star break we have seen many different looks from this team so depends on which one shows up, I'm optimistic that they will be motivated after so many years of no play-offs, but they could be totally overwhelmed too. I'm all over the place, I really just hope they win a round, I think it would be pretty deflating for them and the fans if they go out in the first, especially if they go out in 4-5 games.
  9. Ain't that the truth, if the Canucks don't make you drink nothing will.
  10. I remember watching Canuck games on Black and white tv's if that tells you anything.
  11. I thought this was a horrible trade when we made it but I thought at least Lindolm would put up descent numbers and be solid defensively, boy was I wrong he's an offensive black hole and just ok Defensively. He's literally LE but a center. I used to think if we re-signed him that would at least make things a little better, but now it's the last thing I want to happen.
  12. I'm not disappointed but would have been nice to get guys like Kostin and Meyers just for some added depth.
  13. I expected the streak to go to 7 games, glad they stopped at 4, Canucks really battled hard, was a great game to watch.
  14. I'm not doom and gloom, all I said is I have a feeling we are going to have a 7 game losing streak, then I said I hope I'm wrong, how is that doom and gloom? Just saying what I think will happen. I hope you are right and I'm wrong, although I don't think a 7 game losing streak is the worse thing that can happen if they come out of it with renewed determination.
  15. I've watched all but 3 games this year, but ok then, but please tell me more about what I have and haven't done please, Mr/Mrs wise and wonderful.
  16. I have a bad feeling we are going to have a 7 game losing streak on our hands, I think next win will be against the Ducks. I hope I'm wrong but I've lost a lot of confidence in this group.
  17. where are people getting this Idea Phil isn't a fast skater or never was?
  18. Phil was one of the fastest skaters in the league at one point, I'm sure he has slowed down a bit but I'm willing to bet he is still in the top half of our team in speed. If we can sign him for a million or less I say do it he can't hurt the team.
  19. Wow the Canucks got slaughtered in this trade, seriously WTF was Alvin thinking, damn the pressure to win now must be Massive from FA, that's a really bad bad trade.
  20. I'll have to wait till I see them in game to fully form my opinion, but from what I see in the pictures they look Cheap and Cheesy.
  21. I can’t stand that anthem singer, not personally but the way he sings.
