  1. Considering there didn’t seem to be a major hit to result in an injury I’m wondering if it’s an Oblique injury? It thats the case he isn’t going to get better quickly and might not be able to play through it.
  2. This is why the current playoff format is in place to minimize the potential of multiple Canadian teams make it past the 2nd round.
  3. Personally feel where the problem lies with Petterson is that when he is healthy he is one of the best players in the league. However he is quickly becoming injury prone because of his lack of size and has to play hurt regularly. He is clearly nursing something right now and for a while and when he does he is just another average player. Unless he can add another 10 lbs give or take of muscle I would wager that playing hurt will become the norm for him. Will be a very interesting off season to see what happens with him.
  4. Just to continue on the NHL managing games, it’s not just penalties. It’s calling one team (Canucks) offside on anything that’s close yet allowing plays to continue if it’s close for the other team. Since there is replay for offsides anything that is close should be allowed to continue. Another example is linesman waving out centermen in key situations to help a certain team (Wild today) to gain possession of the puck. NHL is such a bush league and I wish more people would wise up and realize this
  5. How can anyone with half a brain not see the NHL manages their games with these weak a$& calls
  6. So on the 5 min major call, do the refs not talk to the league when they go to the review process? So it was the NHL that made the wrong call not the refs if that’s the case. This is exactly the kind of crap the bush league NHL will pull come playoff time.
  7. I was looking him up the other night to he is doing fairly well this year. However it looks like he has gotten a decent amount of time and points on the Powerplay and possibly the 1st D-Pair? I believe Ekblad hasn’t played much yet as well. So OEL wasn’t going to get those opportunities here with Hughes on the team. OEL is a good dman when healthy but he isn’t the dman the Canucks need and for that price unfortunately.
  8. I feel exactly the same. NHL and all professional sports has changed from sports to pure business and greed. NHL is 100% managed for profit, which is why No Canadian team has won a cup in 30 years. The Canucks were by far the best team in 2011 and once they went up 2-0 on Boston the NHL decided to change the rules to better suit a bigger more physical Bruins team. I still love watching the Canucks and cheer them on but I do so now knowing full well that in the end they will lose.
  9. Anyone know if he is going to be on Team Sweden for the World Juniors?
  10. No elite team Ie Rangers etc are going to disrupt their team to the extent it would require to acquire McDavid. The only high end team that would entertain the idea is Boston because they have two very good goalies and wouldn’t have to trade 3 or 4 key positional players. Buffalo makes the most sense for multiple reasons. First, they have cap space which will make any trade with Edmonton much easier to make. Second, they have a lot of good young players that they could still surround McDavid with a good group of players on defence, the forwards and in net. Lastly they haven’t been successful yet so there will be more desire to make the trade than teams that are already winning and don’t want to risk upsetting the locker room.
