  1. Agree with him in general, or on this specific issue? if it’s on this specific issue, no. If it’s in general, also no.
  2. After sleeping on it last night, the PK success I'm happiest about was absolutely the Pettersson "Charging" kill. I feel like if the Nux get scored on for that it might go to his head... if I'm the coach I tell him 'take that "charging" penalty every single time if guys want to run you like that'. Petey had one of the biggest 'one way, then the other' bouceback games I've seen in a long while. He did everything he needed to do... he didn't score himself, but he was everywhere and flying.
  3. I would say probably not. Even to me it looked like a kick. i’m glad there’s no question and Miller buried it though. I’m also extremely happy Petey was where he was on that play. Hard spot to be on the ice in the last minute, took half the Oiler team with him. He does that, that’s a win.
  4. Hah. Writing helps me dispel some anger and disappointment. I've written a LOT of words in the last decade. Some of them were even for university. So in a way, I can thank Jim Benning in some way for my degree.
  5. Ten seasons. Inflated numbers in a few games a year *feasting* on a few teams (going like 16/23 against Nashville in particular or something one year) but for the most part, it's pretty terrible. Stationary passing, very little movement. When it IS a goal, there's skating. Look at the Oiler powerplay - they have a triggerman who hits the net most of the time, and even he moves around - a little forward, a little back, a little side to side. Always making the D-man move around. Canuck powerplay has been guys anchored like oak trees passing it about for like a decade. Drop pass neutral zone, left side zone entry with zero speed... dump it in the corner weak with no chase from the right side. And out it comes. Or, in zone, pass along the outside... along the outside... along the outside... d to d (not actually a D) oh wait the PK is on a SH break now because they stepped up. Then they have one where everybody is moving, into and out of the slot, sowing chaos and the D gets caught looking... and then somebody scores. But it's like they forget that worked and go back to being trees the next game, it's absolutely bizzarre.
  6. I'm just glad Tocchet saw the same game we all did and is calling as such. He's been covering for a lot of guys for a long time in the postgame scrums, but clearly has had enough. That actually makes me feel better, as weird as it is. He'll name Pettersson as a 'leader' of the team, but you can bet the other guys will know it too.
  7. Perry being Perry. No contact, no call. They would never call it anything else.
  8. He’s right though. the Canucks haven’t played well enough consistently all series. They win in ‘spurts’. Watch how Carolina plays the Rangers. They might be down, but I really don’t think deservedly. It’s skate, work, work, work, all game. Canucks think they can coast on talent or something. As soon as they get a pass they go full A-frame and glide. Wait for passes along the wall rather than go get the puck. They’ve got a whole period to make something happen. They had about 6 minutes in the second where they ‘manned up’. They need to be there all game.
  9. Mik also stood there and watched oilers skate in when he made that hit. No offense, no hitting, no defence. What the hell happened to him…
  10. That’s some good effort so far. Aman isn’t good enough I don’t think. Slow on his feet, slow on the reads.
  11. I shared that exact thing with my viewing partner on the Cole thing. i really think he needs to sit for a game when Soucy comes back and reset.
  12. You’ve got the right idea. 100%. The nux were stopping at step one. And there was zero ‘go’ with or without. And that’s hugely frustrating because we got guys who have serious wheels and they just… aren’t wheeling.
  13. We don’t have the puck, so we’re chasing them. I like hits, but the effort also needs to be there for goals, and aside from Garland I haven’t seen any so far.
