Totally, as much as fans want to get these UFA's signed there is no point in creating a distraction from the task at hand. There is plenty of time before July and we don't need players looking at others getting signed and saying "why not me".

You conveniently omitted games played in your "important" stats. Last year he only played 64 games that puts him on a higher points per game (22-23 0.61 ppg, 23-24 0.59 ppg). It's also ridiculous to compare his plus minus last year on a sub par Detroit team to this season on a division winner.

Not only that but once there is an arbitration ruling we won't be able to trade Hronek and he will either walk to UFA or have us over a barrel.

An 8 year deal would take zadorov to age 38. That is absolutely insane.

Hronek is a RFA. We can trade his rights if we choose to move on. No point in not qualifying him and letting him walk.
