  1. The key for Game 7 is to score first goal and get a better chance of winning the game. Also some of the slumping guys is overdue for a breakout performance in the playoffs so hopefully we get that as well. There will be no tomorrow if we lose. Crunch time for all of the guys who wants to keep their run alive.
  2. I wonder how is Hronek's shoulder since his injury from last season? I don't even see how his bomb only once from NYI game? Let's find his bomb and he hasn't found it yet all year long?
  3. Harder to maintain our speed if guys are injured and we logged the most air miles out of all teams and it will eventually catch up. Our speed will inevitable lose speed over time throughout the season and playoffs and teams that travel the least will maintain their speed throughout. It is something we need to figure things out due to how schedule matrix is being set up. The Oilers are noticeable faster, so are the Predator due to how other teams travel throughout the season are not equal. We have had to work hard to maintain the Divisional lead and did not have the real opportunity to rest our guys at the end of regular season is making a lot of difference at this stage of the playoffs.
  4. Keeping in mind that it is their first playoff experience that is non-covid environment have yet to experience what it takes to win a series when facing adversity in a hostile environment. Once they overcomes, they will have the potential to unlock their potential but methinks that most players are nursing inquiries and we have yet to ice a full team with Demko being out since Game 1 of the playoffs. It will be a lot easier to know who our back-up for next season with DeSmith's 2 million off the book to sign our guys to be able to keep at least two of them whom is due for a raise and Myers might decide to stay with a lesser pay if he choose to do it so. Right now, teams will be bidding for his service and will offer him better pay. How different our line-up might look if Game 7 doesn't work out and let's not think about it until after even if we win Game 7 and still lots of hockey to be played Hopefully our injured guys has been healed in time for Game 1 of next series. We won't know the extend of the injuries our superstar is going through until we are out or win the cup, either way. it's still a good experience to be able to end their series earlier than drag on all because our guys don't show up and get injury in the way as a roadblock. The lesson is showing up when you don't feel like it because it is really a grind.
  5. Oh ok, I haven't heard of that news yet. Maybe we might as well try to score first goal and bunches in more and defend well even more to give us wriggling room.
  6. They haven't learned to shoot all year long and is playing like this. Maybe this experience will elevate their PP for next season and be even more lethal. They were shooting 30% in first half and not much after 2nd half. Also practice some 5 on 3 and they are playing like they were a man up, not two man up.
  7. If Demko starts in Game 7, the Canucks structure will be a lot different than the OIlers faced all 6 games becuase their plan revolves around their structure. There are a subtle structure difference about how they play with their main starter and their back-up. The Oilers will have to play differently with their structure with Demko and they haven't been tested at all and Demko could be a difference maker in term of confidence. There will be no tomorrow so might as well take a chance if Demko is ready to step in. I have more confidence with Demko than without even with 3rd stringer if we want to advance to next round.
  8. My simple answer to the ultra-aggressive Oiler PK is to shoot, one-timer and chaos will ensure for a rebound goal with open space in the slot when 2 PK is close to the blue line. Maybe adjust their formation to different type of PP because Ultra-aggressive PKer will go to the board faster and thwart the PP when Hughes is forced to dump to the board when there are no option available or else there'd be a breakaway or 2 on 1 shorthanded. Just 2-3 pass set-up and shoot and that's it. Someone is bound to pick up a rebound and in. Hronek is not the answer if they are looking to shake up their 1st unit. Lekk would be an option for one-timer and he is really fresh and could snipe one-timer. I would shorten the bench with Lekk playing in 4th line with not many minutes and send him up for a PP if it is even an option.
  9. I agree. They were so good at the first half and apparently that the teams has really adjust their PK against the Canucks for 2nd half and had its 5th toughest schedule leading to the playoffs. They lost their confidence in the process. Who plays 1-3-1 set-up for 5 on 3 PP is like playing their PP with a man up, not two up? There are a reason why 5 on 3 should have been a different formation that worked for a century.
  10. For game 7, I want to see first goal, a different line-up with maybe a surprise debut and shorten the bench. I know what we are getting for game 7, a close and tight one and hope that the ref throw away their bias and call a good game instead and call embellishment that would send us to PP for once. It will come to a question, who will get higher rating, the Oilers or the Canucks for WCF for the league. Whoever wins game 7 will have its difficulty with the Stars due to shortest rest and travel and the Stars will have home ice advantage. I think we'd rather to experience the struggle against the Stars than anything else so that they can gain some experience of what it really takes to win the Cup in the near future whether it be this year or beyond. My biggest fear will be the one-year wonder like NJ next season so let's get to it.
  11. Demko will be in the net for Game 7 for sure. Silvos has faltered out.
  12. Demko could be a difference maker due to how their structure is compared to a back-up or 3rd string goaltender type of structure. Their structure would look different if Demko is in regardless of how cold he might be. It could be that the Oilers having a lot difficulty adjsuting to their regular structure than the back-up structure.
  13. That is because the Oilers are cheating and there are disconnect because there are so much room in neutral zone for the Oilers to attack.
  14. The Oilers are ultra-aggressive PKer so I hope that they adjust more and shoot more rather than trying for better passes.
  15. We struggled against Dallas this season so it's pretty difficult to see how we do because we struggled ultra-defensive team in Predators, and ultra-offensive team in Oilers. The Stars is pretty balanced in all aspect of their game. Stars can score in bunches and defend well and has the ability to dominate and control in the offensive zone.
  16. If we have scored first, that is pretty hard to show how we do again. That is the issue, we lost once but we didn't give another opportunity to show what we can do when playing with the lead.
  17. To be honest, I'd rather this ref crew for game 7 than other ref. No more Sutherlands, I hope. Let's start playing better now.
  18. The Canucks have scored first goal only once this series, once! That was game 2 and yet we were playing a catch-up hockey.
  19. They are playign like it's 5 on 4 when it's 2 man advantage. I don't really like how they play it is a man up. It is not a 5 on 3 traditional set-up, easier to stop that 1-3-1 set-up in the offensive zone.
  20. The Canucks hasn't been good at 5 on 3 PP all year long. It's time to change the narratives this time.
  21. I am not a fan of wide open through the neutral zone. Maybe tighten up a little bit to counter their speed.
  22. The only icing should have been made deliberately is the first Oiler goal because Miller was in the box and continuous play for 5 minutes. Just ice and get Miller back somehow as he will have served his penalty for roughing. So yeah, I agree, dumb play but we got a break at the end with interference call. Just little details that they should have been made even if they don't get line change.
  23. The Canucks should have ice the puck just to get Miller back on the ice for he is serving a minor. Now they allowed the goal and no Miller.
  24. The problem is that Petey still had the puck and just made a pass before reverse hit so that any penalty whether it be interference, elbow, etc. didn't even make any sense at all! I really hope that someone in authority initiate the investigation on the NHL very soon and expose them for who they really are. It has been ongoing for decade except that they covered it up very well. This time, it is not a good look. It is very obvious.
  25. I am not a fan of Cole's play this series, it is time to sit him for Game 6 regardless of his experience. The Oilers has really exposed Cole with the speed.
