  1. The end of this article suggests captains can still make trades?
  2. Interesting that we added the Sedins to the coaching staff and suddenly we are in the right cycle now
  3. None of those guys were the big fish at the time were they? Barbashev, Manson and Lehkonen are examples of guys that stayed longer than being a playoff rental which is what I was alluding to if we are looking to move assets. And I don't think any of them took really big contracts. Blueger, Cogliano and Sturm are all depth guys. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'd probably stay away from guys like Lindholm and Tanev because they are short term solutions that will cost too much to acquire and it may not pan out that well in the end.
  4. I'm curious, what kind of moves did the most recent Cup winners make? I have a feeling that not many made big splashes and the teams that did fizzled out early in the playoffs. Team chemistry is important and our success right now is thanks to the guys we have now. If we make any moves, I'd like to either have a player that will be here for more than just a playoff run or not pay through the roof and add some depth role players instead of the big fish.
  5. Vancouver Canucks are looking for a dman. Have a 2025 1st potentially available.
  6. Aren't you the one that put him on waivers?
  7. Columbus Blue Jackets put a waiver claim for Jake Allen
  8. Vancouver Canucks waive Kaapo Kahkonen and Sam Blais, assign to minors if they clear
  9. Vancouver Canucks claim Antti Raanta off waivers
  10. Metropolitan all stars sub out Josh Morrissey for Devon Toews
  11. Metropolitan all stars sub Valeri Nichushkin for Frank Vatrano
  12. Columbus Blue Jackets assign Waltteri Merela to the minors (no waivers required) Columbus Blue Jackets call up Kaedan Korczak to the main roster
  13. Some of that time is PP time and I'd suspect that some of the 5v5 minutes will have Hughes with Hronek as well. Tanev playing between 18-20 minutes a night should be reasonable.
  14. It's just horrible and unfortunate that we even are having this discussion at all at the end of the day.
  15. Okay but what happened when the case re-opened? Their respective clubs allowed them to play and make millions right up to this point. The fact that Formenton has essentially been out of the league for a season and a half means teams must've known more about this than they let on from earlier on. My point is that Perry could've done something bigger, but until it's known what actually happened, it won't matter if it helps Edmonton win a Cup or whatever. If it comes out that he did something horrible (not saying he did, but just as an example), then Edmonton will have reaped the rewards already, or if found out earlier, they just terminate his contract no harm no foul on the club.
  16. I mean look at all the team signing contracts for the players involved in the hockey Canada sexual assault case. Those teams must know what's going on behind the scenes there. If teams can cover up whatever they can, they will if the players will help their team. And if those players get busted, they just terminate the contract or cut ties, no harm no foul on the club. Chicago was rewarded with a 1st overall after what happened there. In fact the penalty was probably less severe than what Perry got. So I have no doubt in my mind that teams would sign players even if they know they've done bad stuff (or plead ignorance eg Mitchell Miller signing in Boston).
  17. Adam Ruzicka was placed on waivers yesterday. 24 year old, 6'4 215lb C I'd take a flyer on him. We will see if he clears today.
  18. Columbus Blue Jackets assign Sam Malinski to the minors (no waivers required) Columbus Blue Jackets call up Waltteri Merela to the main roster
