  1. Elias, you are way too fixated on JT Focus on their political platforms What they stand for........ Conservatives believe in small government, and that business can do it better This has been proven wrong, every time government has let them try Our Artic tundra is littered with gas well exploration debris We have over fished in our oceans Mining has produced horrific spills because there is not enough inspectors And we have sold off our natural resources This is big business, at its best? Where does this fit in your needs? It sure the hell does not fit mine!
  2. Thanks for the response! I think you are more right than wrong on the disability issue, but my point was and is, how can 2 people with the same disability, react so differently, one, a working and productive member of society, the other, laying down and letting society look after them? My thought is that we allow it, so they take it. (and I know many that do! ) This of course needs to be overviewed in discussion, as, for those people that can not help themselves, we need to do more! And there lays the rub! Now, as I stated earlier, we need all our parties to work together and create a system that helps those in need. We need different POV, and we need compromise from our politicians, where we build the best mouse trap, that works from all POV. But, I do not want to get bogged down, talking about the those people that need us most, because in the big picture, we just need to take care of them, and they are far, from the biggest, or even the average problem. Because they are not really a problem, more a responsibility of society. Take my money any day, for those that really need it. Cheers!
  3. That is a good question 112 How about actually interview everyone. I am quite sure that, any physical disabled, would only need one interview in a life time, but even there, I am 100% aware of many people who are disabled, and work 70 hour work weeks in very good paying jobs. Others are no so lucky, and need our help. I do not think there are too many people in this country that do not support those in need. Whether, disabled or not. Mentally handicapped need the same laws applied! But where we have to actually start ripping the scab off, is with those people that are working the system, and I know plenty of people collecting welfare and working cash jobs. Others, simply would rather not work at all, and those people need to be dealt with. There is no excuse for those people in my mind. I come from an extremely poor family, and I worked hard to raise myself out of the gutter. There were many stumbles, and set backs, but I did not quit! I expect that from everyone, that has the ability to work, whether disabled, or just plain lazy, and everything in between. If able, people that are able and are not working, can work for the Government (society) and make hiking trails, clean beaches, sweep sidewalks, etc. (There is dignity in work!) And I ask, why should I pay for some dead beat, to sleep off his stupper?) As for Lobby groups...first let me say, that I and another wonderful lady, unionized our work place, it was hard and dangerous. there was a real fear of loosing my job, if my employer found out. (regardless of the laws!) But still, if we strip the right of employers to lobby the government, then we have to equally strip that away from the worker. It has to be equal. Where we must act, is demanding that our Government, do their jobs, and find out what the country needs. Then act, not the other way around. Owners of companies have 1 vote, as do any workers with in that company....the business has no votes. It is a privilege for business to operate in our country, and we should make them understand that, but equally, we as workers, have a responsibility as well. And we all know too many people that take advantage of the system. Is my statement all encompassing? No! Are there a billion more issues, Yes!, but for all of that, the one glaring void, is that we do not hold our political parties accountable. Why on gods earth do we allow MP's a full pension after so little time? (4 years? or is it 8?) I worked 40 years for a reduced pension....LOL my Choosing! My point is hold all parties accountable. But until we look at our neighbor, and understand that his views are as equally important, than our own, we will be in trouble! Until we go to our local town meetings and ask why?, then we are in trouble! You could feel different, and that is all right! It is your right! but this is how I feel!
  4. You Bob here is what I ask of the 3 main parties........... #1. Conservatives - Keep your fiscal policy of not over spending - Try and broaden your social platform - Remove the carbon tax if in power #2. Liberals -Get rid of the carbon tax and implement a softer version based on other countries efforts - Also it should be based on a net production carbon vs net producer of Oxygen - Stop all lobby groups (business and unions) #3. NDP -Stop giving in to all social demands ( I do support a single mother with 3 kids under 6 needing social assistance...I do no support idiots sleeping in that can work) -Ask for a better carbon tax...more in line than the Liberal *I ask all parties, to grow up and use each others platforms when that platform helps Canadians, instead of being the anti christ when, opposing it!
  5. So, just to through something into this discussion. IMO, I would love to see Hronek moved for a right handed Zadorov then Zadorov and Willander as the second pairing then 2 big assed 5 and 6 dmen to round out the 3rd pairing As we are seeing in these playoffs....size matters!
  6. Not that I disagree with you But, isn't it sad that we live in one of the best countries i the world and still most of us feel this way.... I mean, really think about it! Do we expect too much?
  7. IMO, the government uses inflation to buy down National debt. But , again , IMO, it is a pyramid scheme, that will collapse, at some point, and the people at the bottom, will be left holding the bag! And the old money, that is hidden within society, will still be there, as it was in the Great Depression.
  8. Boud's, here is some reality for you.......... My councilor in school......Ted Miller ( a very nice man, who kept me going to school!) ran and won the NDP riding for the federal NDP. He was fun of idea's and was very popular, inside local NDP circles for that reason. When he arrived in Ottawa, he was shown around, and shown where is seat was.........(back row, beside other newbies) he was then told not to speak at all, and vote as a block, with all the other NDP and guided to by then Ed Broadbent. He was then told by other MP's of other parties, that that is exactly what happened to them.....that my friend was his reality!
  9. These are good questions Boud's Loopholes are for the rich......a person who works minimum wage can fill out his tax return in about 15 minutes, by himself, the more money you get, the longer it takes, untiil you make so much money you need an accountant or a dozen beer and some quiet time. I have a buddy that use to head up IG investments. He and some other "friends" bought a office space, created a holding company, and took tax free dividends. I also have another associate friend who owns a landscape company of 1 (himself) and brags that he does not pay taxes, or very little, because he deducts so much off the top. Including half his house, and all his truck expenses, and he is never audited. These are tax holes for the not so rich, but richer than average. When it gets up to the big boys, you need a accountant to knows where to look, but they are there. I assure you. And they are used every year. As for Billions leaving the country...........DP World, the 3rd largest container shipper in the world, and based out of Dubai, owns or controls, just about every large port on the west Coast of Canada......where do you think their profits go? And why did the Canadian Government allow them to purchase these facilities. Even the Federal Ports is contracting to them. So in actual fact, the Government of Canada is sending money abroad. My friend.......you and I are to blame......we as a people are inactive, and allow this to happen. Government is controlled by big business, and money, that is a fact! I can assure you that if you went to the BC government and demanded to see our Premier, we would not have access, but if Jimmmy Pattersson, did that, the doors would open quickly! And that is with a left leaning government. Imagine how fast it would happen in a right wing government! **** To note.......my friend who bought the office space, with his friends, paid 14% corporate tax, and took a $25,000 dollar dividend for 4 people in his house hold, that is 4 people paying 6% less than the lowest tax rate, which is $6,000 dollars, then he rolled it over to his daughters Tax free saving account, and it is growing and will never be taxed, all on the backs of a McDonald workers salary. I have a tough time chewing after thinking about that!
  10. Last night I posted some stats about Covid, and how Canada handled it.............Canada as in Trudeau's policy on contracts with variable drug companies, to get vaccine, well that worked well, stats prove it! The BC government set out restrictions, which worked, in the same vane as the Feds did. I commend both parties, on how well they did. Conservatives, sat on the fence and complained, not offering any alternative, just riling up the population for press coverage. they supported the freedom fighters, regardless of how they affected other Canadians.......they basically supported the selfish. I can not get behind that. They have no answers, just complaints and have adapted Trump and Republican type politics.......................which I hate........it is extremely divisive! I want a party to come alone and work for everyone.....not just their own self interests..........I have yet to see that part emerge!..........if the ball does not stop rolling, we will be in big trouble!
  11. I totally agree with your write up! What do you do? NDP are still trying to give out tax money, for expanding services to the poor, first nations, etc Which in a perfect world I would support, but!!!! The Liberals just put their head in the sand, and let inflation eat away our tax dollars and the Conservatives want to reduce spending, which I agree with, but!!! But, But, But, they also want reduce what the Government owns, and guess who will buy it with pennies on the dollar....not common folk...they have no money! One thing, I am noticing, and do not agree with, it large corps are showing larger and larger profits, and then hiding them, in tax loop holes. Banks, are making more and more money and are giving out 2 tiered profit sharing, based on how much you have invested. Same for investment house, like IG.....Corporations, are gouging us, and government, especially Conservatives, are allowing it.....and that is world wide. So, as much as I would like the fiscally responsible part of the Conservatives, I do not like the other parts, such as the freedom fighters and anti-vaxers type people who have a large say in the Conservative party. And which I totally disagree with............. It is a large problem for me!
  12. Bang on Boud's IMO, I think as we understand nutrition and Cost of living increases year over year, we will see alot more people gardening, and raising small meat animals..... IE......chickens, and rabbit, comes to mind.......................It sound tough now, but it will get worse!
  13. Ok, fine.....what about the other 1st world countries, which one GNP have risen? What percentage have risen? Let's not compare to ourselves...... Liberalism, has asked us to share our wealth, times has asked us to share our wealth, as some 3rd world countries are catching up I also find it funny and ironic, that today, a person or family with a minimum paying job owns a 48 inch color TV and a cell phone, and screams poverty. As when I was a kid growing up, poverty meant no TV, and growing gardens so the vegies could be canned, clothes were handed down, and the car was 30 years old....and a vacation, was only to the local camp ground....if at all. Things change! My Dad also worked as much overtime as he could get! Worked a second job, to try and get ahead!
  14. Ricky, I do not know how old you are.......please refer to my last post on this page. All governments and large corps have known for a long time. People have been saying for a long time, that when the baby boomers retire, there would be a problem. I worked in the marine industry...........there is a world wide shortage of engineers and captains.............world wide! Same can be said for other professions........this was not created by any government....it was created by demographics But, if you still do not understand this............consider that anyone in a position of power in "every" political party since 1980 should have known, and been working on the solution, and if they were not, they were not worth their salt.....that is all NDP, all Liberals, and all Conservatives...........all carry blame................ And trust me, not one party was screaming that we needed to plan for it! Not one! But read my last post......it has some decent info My boss used to say...........don't tell what the problem is, tell me what the solution is!............all I hear are insults back and forth By politicians and voters alike!
  15. Just on a foot note................I wonder how any "Freedom Fighters" have died of starvation caused by Covid regulations? LOL
