  1. That was definitely a parody site/report. I have seen some other ones from them that are obviously satire. From anything I've ever read about Skinner, he is a very decent fellow. Please let's take the high road here and not belittle a player because this (we are better than Oiler's fans, right?) Let's just happily watch our team take this game tonight and win their way to the Conference finals!
  2. I was thinking the same thing - the Big Team Swedish House Mafia!
  3. I think he was having an excellent game 2 until he got boarded head-first, then smoked in the head a few seconds later. He seems to have lost the spark he had earlier in the game before the hit and I didn't see it in game 3 at all.
  4. Sorry but I will never be convinced that the McDavid high stick to Quin was "unintentional". What I just can't understand it that, such a gifted exceptional player like McDavid does this sort of dirty, hurtful act. I'm also an old fart but it seems that gone are the days when the best players were also the most respected and respectful.... classy, humble and ambassadors of the game. Well I guess the Sedins aren't from that long ago, but I'm also thinking of legends like Jean Beliveau.
  5. Isn't Quin a superstar (or at least verging on one). Why isn't he given the same level of protection? Something fishy going on in the kingdom of NHL.
  6. This happened to Petey when he was playing much more assertively... he had the goal and was making good moves, being a threat. I may be mistaken but he hasn't been playing that way and seems to have "regressed" back to his quiet, though defensive, games ever since this hit. I think it's made a difference in Petey's play that hasn't been mentioned by others and I am still shocked that such a dangerous boarding was not penalized.
  7. I hope so! This is kind of what I was getting at too. Though you are probably right, rather than through "proper protocol", the old boys club is the route to take...
  8. I think it is, for now, in the club's best interest not to publicly criticize tonight's reff'ing and Sutherland, in particular. I sure hope that Allvin and/or Rutherford make sure that footage of these dangerous and injurious acts, along with a formal complaint are sent to the appropriate department in the NHL. And simulaneously, there is lots of media coverage and widespread sharing of the clips. I am naive enough to hope that if the team takes the high road and follows protocol, while the media and fans ensure that the leagues knows that we know, that the league will actually do something about it! I see that apparently there has already been some sort of review of the "gonad whack sneak attack". I don't understand why the other despicable infractions weren't also reviewed... Holding my breath that there might be more news to come (but I won't hold it too long, I know to look after myself).
  9. Not really, but I have the answer I really needed because Allvin just recalled about 30 players from Abbotsford!
  10. Does the 4 recall limit apply during playoffs or is that just for the regular season after the trade deadline? I think the Canucks have used 1 or 2 already.... I know Silovs and Tolopilo were emergency ones. Also wondering if you recall a player twice (the Podkolzin scenario - he was brought up once, then sent down again and maybe about to be brought back up soon) does that count as one of the 4 allowed or two?
  11. I don't think Travis Green is a bad coach. He got a lot out of the players that he had the first couple of years. I think his main downfalls were not being able to adjust well as the quality of his players improved, the unbalanced composition of the roster and, other than Shaw, inexperienced/mediocre assistant coaches. He will have some good young players to work with in Ottawa and hopefully, for him, some good assistants.
  12. I wish they would but both teams play their next game on the same night. Doubt the Vancouver team will take a chance with their EBUG...
  13. He's still showing us being with the Vancouver team on Capfriendly...
  14. Has anyone mentioned that this move by Miller might have actually had a bit of an impact in last night's game? A little break from the seriousness, a nod to Silovs that surely showed him that he is part of the group - well enough to be teased a little! His move may have added a little spark and jump to the team and to Silovs. I loved it!
