  1. Obviously the decision boils down to the coaching staff. Just posed the question for the sake of discussion on the discussion board.
  2. That was more or less my thoughts as well. We forget the kid has 18 career starts. Half of which came in this 9 straight playoff games stretch. I love the guy like everyone else. But I wonder if we are putting too much on his back already. I am mostly just surprised at how people are flatly against even discussing DeSmith going in. He was great in his 2 playoff starts for us. And his final game against Edmonton in the regular season was pretty lights out. 32 saves on 33 shots. The idea he goes in should at least be discussion. Lol.
  3. I never said I expected a blow out, but I expected them to show up. It's the playoffs.
  4. Easier said than done. I'll fire up NHL 24 and just distract myself. Lol. The team does rebound after losses nicely. I just wanted to see back to back dominant games. Keep the momentum going. Oh well. Game 7 will be electric.
  5. Man this game just really felt deflating. At no point did the team feel dangerous. I really hope we show up for 7. The fans should inject some energy.
  6. Silovs has given up 3 or more goals in 5 of the 6 games this series. Lol. I just don't get why people are a staunch "No" on playing DeSmith. Silovs hasn't been exactly lights out. He's been good. But damn. To each their own I guess.
  7. Based on what? Y'all act like DeSmith has been bad. Dude was great before getting injured.
  8. The question is, do you go back to DeSmith? Silovs is a rookie with fewer than 20 career starts. Not playoff, career. They went back to Skinner and that guy was an absolute sieve. Silovs might be feeling the effects of playing so many games in a short amount of time. And he's a rookie. He let in some softies tonight. I think it'd be smart to go DeSmith here. Won't necessarily help wake the boys up front up. But might be good to go with the fresher vet in net.
  9. Easily one of the worst efforts I seen all year, especially given the stage. Star players didn't play like they wanted it. And the score reflects that. Silovs let in a couple muffins. Team folded like a cheap tent after.
  10. Game is within reach and Skinner is in net. Forget the last 2 periods and wake the fuck up. I believe.
  11. They have an AHL blueline, the only reason we haven't exploited it more is cause they swapped off Skinner and Pickard has been playing well, and McDavid and Draisaitl are putting on a puck control clinic. Even if they win tonight, the odds of Skinner playing back to back good games just feels so low. This is definitely gonna be an interesting game.
  12. Skinner in is an interesting choice. I don't see the value in it. I mean, he might be motivated. But I just don't think going away from a goalie playing well for a hopefully motivated one is smart coaching. Knob has been getting so much credit for his coaching. When they really just boil down to "play McDavid and Draisaitl more." And now he went from a goalie playing well, to a previously terrible one. The best coaching decision he made was swapping off of Skinner.
  13. Time to finish this up. Complete the all 6 game 2nd round. Put down the clowns.
  14. Surprised that more Edmonton fans said they would consider cheering for Vancouver should we win than Canucks fans willing to cheer on Edmonton. I hate to say it, but the only other Canadian team I'd consider cheering for is Winnipeg. Everyone else can kick rocks.
  15. Offered him a contract then proceeded to fire him. Interesting situation. Lol. Should be some NHL spots open this summer. So I can see Colliton getting a look somewhere.
  16. Funny cause in the clip the announcer explains why it was called. The rule is dumb and I don't think this should have been called. But leaving your feet can make this "charging" based on the letter of the law. But yeah, it was a really dumb call to make, especially in the playoffs.
  17. Just waiting for the "only reason they won is cause McDavid didn't score" or "Only won cause our goalie stopped pucks." It's usually never late.
  18. A little harder to slow down McDavid on Team Canada. We essentially roll out four 1st lines. Lol. But hey, they can certainly spend his energy there if they so choose. They can even run out Boeser with him given their shared American heritage.
  19. Watching Miller shutdown McDavid. Just reminds me of that time Cole Cassels beat McDavid in the OHL playoffs and we had dreams of him making the show. I wonder what he's up to now.
  20. Only 4 live predictions left. 3 for Edmonton in 7 and 1 for Canucks in 7. Chance for every single one to be wrong still. Neat. Edit: Think I missed one. Five live predictions. Four had Edmonton in 7. One had Van in 7.
