I think the lack of production from all the secondary pieces failed us. Edmonton had 2 AHL lines and 2 AHL D pairs. And a goalie who is about as shaky as they come. But Hoglander had 1 goal all playoffs, Petey had 1 goal, Mikheyev had the same goal total as me, Lafferty was a ghost, Blueger was solid on the PK but no goals, Aman did nothing. List goes on. I may be hard on Petey. But outside of Garland, Lindholm, Miller and Boeser. The vast majority of the forward group were passengers. Joshua was a beast against Nashville though. We were supposed to have the depth advantage, but we flatly didn't.

He was good for one game outta 13. Lol. He stunk.

Petey, I am tired of repeating this but, BULK. THE. FUCK. UP. This needs to be a learning lesson that your 170 pound frame isn't enough for the playoffs. You're not fast or elusive enough to make it work. You easily could be a top 5 player in this league if you hit 185-190+. Look what Lindholm was able to do. 6'1, 200 pounds. You telling me your 6'3 frame can't hit 190-195? Your dedication needs to match your skill.

Pettersson to Carolina for Jarvis, Nikishin and a 1st rounder this year. Lock up Lindholm and Zadorov. Use that 1st rounder to send Mikheyev literally anywhere else.

I also think losing our leading playoff point producer and our number 1 goalie didn't help. We already were pretty weak on depth, Rutherford said for this team to make the playoffs everything needed to go right and it did honestly. Mentioned health specifically. We see how depleted we looked once Boeser went down. There are no threats on this team after Boeser and Miller, especially with Petey ghosting. 6 passengers easily tonight. But I said it before, with 1 period left. I want to see who has heart on this team.

Game ain't over. 20 minutes for your playoff lives. I want to see who has heart. The rest are expendable.

I really don't get why this powerplay is so ass. It's like their IQ drops 20 points and their stats drop 15. We have Hughes, Petey and Miller. It should not look this shitty. I dunno who runs it, but they are by far the worst powerplay coach we've had in years. This personnel has looked good once upon a time.

Necas would actually be a decent add if Lindholm is gone, depending on his price. Need an actual top 6 winger for Petey. Necas is 6'2, so he's not a smurf. Pesce would be massive. Hopefully Hronek's price goes down.

Brock really can't catch a break. Forget game 7 and the playoffs. Just get healthy.

That was more or less my thoughts as well. We forget the kid has 18 career starts. Half of which came in this 9 straight playoff games stretch. I love the guy like everyone else. But I wonder if we are putting too much on his back already. I am mostly just surprised at how people are flatly against even discussing DeSmith going in. He was great in his 2 playoff starts for us. And his final game against Edmonton in the regular season was pretty lights out. 32 saves on 33 shots. The idea he goes in should at least be discussion. Lol.

Silovs has given up 3 or more goals in 5 of the 6 games this series. Lol. I just don't get why people are a staunch "No" on playing DeSmith. Silovs hasn't been exactly lights out. He's been good. But damn. To each their own I guess.

The question is, do you go back to DeSmith? Silovs is a rookie with fewer than 20 career starts. Not playoff, career. They went back to Skinner and that guy was an absolute sieve. Silovs might be feeling the effects of playing so many games in a short amount of time. And he's a rookie. He let in some softies tonight. I think it'd be smart to go DeSmith here. Won't necessarily help wake the boys up front up. But might be good to go with the fresher vet in net.

Easily one of the worst efforts I seen all year, especially given the stage. Star players didn't play like they wanted it. And the score reflects that. Silovs let in a couple muffins. Team folded like a cheap tent after.
