Tocchet.A.Hockey.God Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 (edited) Garland (4.95 mill cap hit this year and 2 years remaining) for Granlund (5.00mill cap hit this year and 1 year remaining) The Canucks throw in at the maximum a 3rd round draft pick. Why the Canucks do it? Canucks get a centerman, who can kill penalties and play unit 2 PP. But more importantly Canucks get versatility in their lineup. Granlund can center a 2nd line at times allowing the lotto line to play together when needing a boast. The Canucks are in a win now mode. The Canucks kill off 1 year of Garlands contract. Why SJS does it? They are rebuilding and extra draft picks help you rebuild. As UFA's are traded away or not re-signed they will need to get to the cap floor. They won't need the cap space in years to come so why not get a extra draft pick Granlund really means nothing to them in the long run of things their not going to make the playoffs with or with out him. Tocchet.A.Hockey.God Posted December 5, 2023 Author Posted December 5, 2023 (edited) Granlund also plays the right side so he could move up to your top line with Petey and drop Kuz down to the bottom six that would get Kuz butt going. Or move Brock to Petey's rightwing and have Kuz Miller and Granland be your second line. Edited December 5, 2023 by CanuckFanForever Quote
Jim Tim Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 I actually don't mind the idea, but.... Garland seems like the superior player at this point, and it feels like Allvin and co are going all in this year. Don't think downgrading the 3RW position is a priority right now, especially with the salary cap going up 5 million next year. Quote
Miss Korea Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 I am only more convinced that @CanuckFanForever is a troll who picked a nice username to trick people into thinking he's an actual Canucks fan. Yet another completely braindead topic. At least this time he's not immediately posting a topic after our team loses. 1 1 Quote

I have a better proposal: To HFCanucks: CanucksFanForever + 1st round pick as a sweetener To CDC: 2028 7th round pick + bucket of chicken #GeorgeCostanza Quote
