Kootenay Gold Posted October 2, 2023 Posted October 2, 2023 He really needs a good season this year. His save %age has not been what I expected of him. Still, Ian Clarke must see something to his game that he likes. Quote
CRAZY_4_NAZZY Posted October 5, 2023 Author Posted October 5, 2023 Ty Young starting the season strong. Prince George is sitting at 5-1-0-0 to start the season, tops in the WHL standings atm. Quote
Pears Posted January 6, 2024 Posted January 6, 2024 Excellent turnaround from Ty after 17 year old Josh Ravensbergen took the starting job with some incredible numbers. Been a long time since we've had two good goalies in PG. 2 Quote

CRAZY_4_NAZZY Posted September 4, 2024 Author Posted September 4, 2024 Considering the injuries to Demko and Silovs, and if the team doesn't acquire another goalie...could see Ty Young start in Abbotsford and later shuttle down to Kalamazoo to battle with Abbotsford Canucks property Jonathan Lemieux for the net in the Zoo. Jess Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 After Silovs struggled again I was looking at Abby's stats and noticed Young has looked really good so far in his limited time in Abby. I doubt he's NHL ready, but a .920 in Abbotsford even just for three games at just 20 years old is really impressive. We might have a gem here. Could be huge if Demko can't stay healthy. Even if he can, Demko is almost nine years older, so the succession timing is almost perfect. By the time Demko is in his mid 30s, Young could just be entering his prime. Quote

Wonder if we might see Patera moved now that we have another option at the AHL level. I know we had another journeyman goalie signed last year ago barely played at all until the playoffs but handled himself well - forgetting the name though Quote

kettlevalley Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Ty Young on his way back to Kalamazoo again. Belongs in the AHL though. First of 4 goalies in AHL and ECHL in save percentage. Another young guy who looks like he has a bright future with the team. Quote
