  1. Are you sure about it being covered by insurance? Where did you read that? Source? He has chronic migraines. This is debilitating for his life let alone playing hockey. But it is not necessarily caused by a hockey injury and may not be insurable. If you have a source please post it.
  2. I'll take a stab at it. If I'm correct Col signed Brannstrom on July 2 for 900k as he was let go by his former team for not being qualified. They brought him into camp but he didn't look good enough. So they could send him down, but that costs them 900k real cash and it takes a contract spot out of their 50. So instead they trade for Poolman's LTIR at a cost of 2M and get off Brannstrom's contract of 900k and pick up a 4th round pick for that cost. (Net cost of 1.1M cash). And Poolman's contract doesn't count against the 50. And they might already be heading into LTIR with Landeskog or Nichushkin, so if that happens, Poolman's LTIR doesn't bother them. Just my guess.
  3. There should be a mandatory value menu like this at Canuck games. How much money does Acquilini need? Last time I went with my son I bought us each a footlong hot dog and a large draft beer. The cost........$70. Then as I went to pay with credit or debit (as they won't accept cash) I was forced to answer a question about how much I wanted to tip! I wanted to enter negative $50 to bring the bill down to what it reasonably should have cost lol.
  4. It's a fun tournament and gives people in the Okanagan a chance to see the young guys up close. But as has been said many times, fans of every team overestimate the talent of their team's prospects. Vancouver is no exception. How many players have represented the Canucks at the Youngstars over the last number of years (since it started) and how many have actually wound up with an NHL career? It's a very low percentage. It's a nice tourney but it doesn't mean much. Partly because the US college guys don't come. Willander and Celebrini case in point. But good promotion and good fun for everyone.
  5. Who else remembers the article before last season saying Demko is a ticking time bomb who will lose his career due to a hip problem and should be traded asap? Can anyone find this?
  6. I don't think you should be suggesting shooting people on a public forum partner.
  7. People talking nonsense about drugs. Fact is crazy people are on the streets killing innocent citizens. The time for fuzzy headed thinking is over. Action is required to make the streets safe for our families.
  8. Health care is primarily a provincial government responsibility. This is a provincial government issue. Decision to legalize hard drugs. Decisions to ignore crime caused by marginalized people who are hot being cared for are the fault of the current provincial government. Kick out Eby and install a conservative government to fix these problems. Gotta get tough now or we are going to lose what we love about living here. You can go back to loving the NDP in a few years after these obvious issues get cleaned up. For god sakes does anyone want to see their kids witnessing the drug use on the streets and buses and out in the public that we have now? I am 6 feet 200 lbs and I don't feel safe walking around parts of downtown. How do women and children feel? Enough.
  9. Almost for sure the 4 nations stupid cup will cost some players an injury and cost some team who is in the mix a lot of trouble down the stretch. Money is blinding the league to the reality that some team is going to get screwed by this. Demko should stay away and make sure he is ready to go for the playoffs!
  10. Interesting that it is being reported that Daniel Sprong and EP are good friends. Watching the Canucks from behind their bench it is apparent that EP hasn't a lot of friends on the team. He sits by himself and doesn't really talk to anybody when he comes off the ice. He and Boeser are friends but no longer on the same line so they don't sit together. He and Hoglander have some affinity but are not that close. They talk a little on the bench. Perhaps the Sprong signing has something to do with correctlng Ep's malaise and making him a happier more productive player. We shall see.
  11. Canucks should extend Hogs now. If they wait and he has a big year then they won't be able to keep both him and Boeser per the math coming up for 2025 cap.
  12. Zadorov gets 5M from Boston. Tell me again why we didn't keep him?
  13. Too bad. Tanev Guentzel and Reinhart were all signings we would have liked for different reasons. Why did we refuse to give Zad an extra 1M again? I hope it isn't so at the end of all this we can sign our fourth FA for 2M instead of 1M.
  14. Deja Vu to when Benning said we have made an offer to Chris and he is going to sleep on it and let us know in the morning...then it was announced an hour later he had signed in Calgary. Lol. This time around it doesn't hurt as much. Also, I remember people saying last time that 4 years was too long. This time it is true. Lol.
