  1. Personally, I don't give a crap about OEL, but the timing with the '94 team is very interesting. I don't have a problem with you bringing any of this up though.
  2. What a journey this team has had since starting the season as a projected lotto team. Winning the division (almost the conference) and then winning the 1st round; despite the loss of their all-star goaltender. So here we are, just 1 win away from moving to the Conference Final. I don't recall anyone saying that the Nucks would play in the CF (except for the few that were insisting that the Nucks would win the SC). This (unfinished) story will be remembered for many years to come. They have so much to be proud of and the future of this team is looking very bright. They're really making me think of these guys: https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/leagues/seasons/teams/0000391994.html
  3. I couldn't say it any better than one of their own fans... 'Embarrassing effort for any playoff game, let alone a game 5. Completely outplayed by the Canucks, Miller made us his bitch. Our stars were no shows. Will never again get 5 PP’s, and we screwed the pooch. Too bad for Pickard, only guy who showed up.'
  4. Well, to be fair...they have only watched the Canucks during these 5 games. Hard to remember all those names in such a short timeframe.
  5. Need to add. Not sure why the Sens do this. He's their Captain, best player and plays with a ton of heart. He would be the perfect player to add to the Canucks though.
  6. You think he's going to bounce back within the next 2-3 games? Not likely. Whatever is going on with him, is likely something that has to be dealt with in the offseason.
  7. I know they have an offensive game, but they're not getting the shots on goal in this series. When they play a team that has a generational player, as well as, a super elite franchise player; they have to gear up the defensive grinding game. Both the Sedins were awful in the playoffs until they were 26
  8. They still struggled with the playoff style of game until they were 26.
  9. Yes, he has filled in for the all star goalie, like an all star. The Oilers have 3 things going for them. McD, Drais and 5 strait seasons of playoff experience. The rest of their team; not so good. Not much for a team that was gifted (5) 1OAs and countless other top 10 picks.
  10. The Canucks were always going to be a grinding, defensive team it they wanted to make the playoffs and have any lick of a chance to win a series or 2. Providing playoff experience for the core was the goal and they have certainly acheived it. Pete has been targeted in both series so far and that won't change. He can barely breathe for the # of times he has an opposition player grabbing, hitting, holding, punching or pounding his head into the boards. I don't see how Kuzy would have fared any better. He certainly wouldn't bring anything to the defensive game. Young Pete's favourite player was Forsburg and I doubt it was solely due to his tremendous offensive efforts. Forsburg was a superstar who played the complete NHL game, in the regular season and playoffs. Right now, he is playing more like a Sedin, who were not doing much in the playoffs until they were 26. Until then, they were treated with the same disrespect as EP by the opposition. Eventually, the twins started focussing on building up their core strength and ended up around 190 lbs during their peak years. They took an incredible amount of pounding, but were still able to produce huge offensive #s.
  11. Petey isn't hurting the team and is providing a lot of defensive support. We won't know what's really going on with him until after the playoffs. I don't want to make judgments on his game until we see the entire picture. Whatever the case, he will likely need a reset this summer and hopefully get some professional help with his off season training. Petey is the type that will be very disappointed with his game over the last couple of months and will work endlessly to restore his game. Whether this set back is physical, emotional or both; he will surely recover and bring his game back for the season opener. Have some faith!
  12. You're right. EP can play like a pair of elite players. But then again, his stats are way better that each individual Sedin when they were 23-25yrs.
  13. Settle down guys/gals. Nucks gotta play their underdoggy game. They are getting better and will tire out the brats they are playing. Have faith. It won't be pretty, but it will work.
  14. On the bright side, it is just 1-0. It could be far worse. They've been here before. Let's give the boys a chance to make their comeback. Have some faith and quit flushing them down the toilet. We've seen all of this before. Give it some time...and somebody, please take out Kate.
  15. I think the difference for the Oils, was the lack of information on Silovs. Who would have thought that both Demko and DeSmith would get injured. I would think the Oils were delighted with the idea of lighting up this rookie goaltender, who had only 9 NHL games under his belt and not a single NHL playoff game. Pickard has been in and out of the AHL and NHL for many years and the book is out on him. He has had a career season this year, so the Canucks are familiar with his game. He hasn't yet played in the playoffs, which means he hasn't faced an NHL team for about a month. I'll bet that Ian Clark knows the best approach in dealing with this situation.
  16. LOL this is so hilarious. Our boys must be shaking in their boots! https://edmontonjournal.com/sports/hockey/nhl/cult-of-hockey/its-time-to-get-your-balls-on-the-crest-of-your-jerseys-edmonton-oilers-old-boy-club-deliver-a-message
  17. So the underdogs are turning this into a dog fight. It's not pretty, but it's winning games. GCG
  18. Trading Hronek and walking Myers, leaves Juulsen as the only natural RD on the team. Securing a 1st and 2nd RD will cost a lot. It's hard to see how the team even maintains their defense with both those guys departing. They will have to utilize much of the salary savings of Hronek/Myers to upgrade the D.
