I woke up crazy happy about the game last night. But seeing Soucy is facing a suspension while once again the Oilers walk away free has put me in the worst mood. I honestly wish JR would speak out and take the fine against this obvious favoritism. Obviously Soucy had zero intent. Maybe I could stomach it if Kane had received some disciple for his slew foot. Or Ryan for his spear on Hoglander. Or McDavid for his role in this. But for the Canucks to be the only team with supplemental discipline is absolute horse shit and Management should not take this quietly. Not during the playoffs.

So Mcdavid can slash Hughes in the face and no call. No suspension. No fine. Ryan can spear Hoglander in the groin. No suspension, no fine. But Zadorov cross checks after mcdavid slashes. FINE Soucy goes for a push into mcdavids chest and mcdavids head moves down, and now suspension? Fuck this joke of a league.

Not last night he wasn't. He whined about the reffing on live TV more than McDavid. Gazdic has definitely turned into an Oilers fan this playoffs.

You have to keep Silovs in at this point. Nothing about his play this series makes you think Demko would do better. Silovs definitely won this game for us. Which is part of playoffs. A goalie needs to steal at least 1 game. You ride Silovs until he has a rough 1/2 game, or ends the series. Then hypothetically you start round 3 with Demko.

You're acting like we're down 3-0 in the series. We're tied, and if it wasn't for another Cole bone head play we could be up 2-0. No reason to change anything up. It's a best of 7 series. We're gonna lose some games

I'm assuming referees are hockey fans and therefore watch other games or at the least highlights when they are able. I wonder if they ever would rewatch previous games in a series to get an idea of the tone of the series and to make sure they are going to be consistent with how things have been reffed so far. I don't see how that would hurt.

I've been mostly critical of Petey the last 3 months, but even I can admit this was Petey's best game of the playoffs. He made some solid defensive plays. There were a couple opportunities where he put himself in the right position for his linemates to make a play to him and they failed. Mik is an absolute disaster on Peteys line. So many times he just wrap the puck around the boards to no one, giving up offensive possession. I would rather se Lafferty up with Petey at this point than Mik.

Maybe he needs some cranberry juice?
