  1. I mean, Kucherov makes 20% more but just scored 40% more, that's pretty good value. Still not as good as Hughes though I don't think.

    Confessions

A good friend of mine has her masters in counselling psych and a second masters in social work - over the last 20 years she’s helped hundreds of people, made a bit of money, surfed through various ebbs and flows of that industry (and various different jobs/positions) and to this day questions if she knows what she wants to be when she grows up. No need to wring your hands - you’ll work hard because you care, some conditions will suck, some will be awesome and you’ll help a whole bunch while supporting the things you need to support financially. Win win win
  4. Im not even a Benning detractor, but this is a perfect description of how he seemed to manage - staggering about and making some good moves
  5. it seems we're suggesting finding a guy probably named alex from the giants and inserting him into the lineup?
  6. I saw the video - looked just like Kessel skating off in Toronto after he'd made a great rush, not scored, now he's tired and meandering to the bench while the opposition is on a 3 on 1 leading to a goal
  7. Almost everyone on this board would have made the Hughes pick - it was a no-brainer I don't believe even one would have made the Pettersson pick - and any discussion around the fact that Benning didn't want the pick proves he was doing what he should, which is listening to his scouts despite his own beliefs. And Miller was a great move. Both Garland and Myers represent his bumbling - I currently love both those guys, but the deals/moves made to acquire them aren't good. And in the end, the most glaring thing to me is he started his tenure by trying to fix our Defense, and seven years later it was was significantly worse than when he started. So - he was bad, but he also deserves a lot of credit for the good he did do.
  8. uhhhh…what?! does the closing of the old board just represent an entire vacuum of all history?
  9. When was that?! Are we talking pre-82 cup run or something? I've never witnessed that in real life in the internet era
  10. Without getting too over-hopeful about last night's game...could it be that we're starting to witness the same, slow transformation that Brock, Joshua and Garland have found under Tocchet? People have largely forgotten the discussions we've been having for literal years about Brock - and both Garland and Joshua felt like they were slowly getting things right for a number of games before the puck started going in for them. If the same thing could happen for Kuzy and Mikheyev, we'd be a pretty formidable force up and down the lineup.
  11. Agreed. I feel like our window is just beginning to open and next year is when we'll start to have a legitimate shot at the cup. Would hate to sell the farm early and then look like post-bubble Canucks again in a year (I'm exaggerating reality, but that big up, big down seems like a possibility again if they pressure things too hard for this year).
  12. Also - I’ve wondered if the perfect name hasn’t presented itself because it won’t last long - I mean how long before Tocchet realizes that Garland and Joshua need to be matched with Petey?
  13. It’s pretty great cause they’re so often feeling like the first line
