  1. Don't think Lekkerimäki is on the roster and, if not, is ineligible to play in the playoffs. Having said, I'm happy to be proven wrong !
  2. That would be a tough matchup - Preds are trending up and will be a tough out.
  3. I believe Boston would need to also shed another $850k in cap to take on Lindholm.
  4. This recent regression in team performance is something I've seen in teams before; more specifically teams that send multiple players to the ASG. Instead of a break in schedule for a few days to rest a bit, mend the body and mind, and prepare for the balance of a gruelling 82 game schedule, they get caught up in more travelling and games/contests and come back exhausted instead of rested. The Canucks had 5 key players (I believe) who fit that category, plus a coach. I'm not surprised that some of these players seem off their game - and there are 24 crucial games yet to be played, plus the playoffs. I HATE the ASG ! Cheers
  5. Love it ! Well done and thanks for the late morning chuckle.
  6. That's a lot for Guentzel, equivalent of a top 9 player, 2 X 1st. round picks and 2 x 3rd. round picks. And, Brzustewicz is putting up some fabulous numbers in the OHL. I realize that we finally have a good stock of effective D on the roster and in the pipeline but......I can't help but remember how many years the team was starving for quality D and I'm not keen on giving up good D prospects now. I do, however, agree that Guentzel is a quality player and a worthy trade target. Cheers.
  7. If you're talking Lindholm, are you suggesting a sign & trade ? That would shore up our #2C position and free up Petey to play wing.
  8. That would likely explain the call-up.
  9. Disappointed in Kuzmenko. His primary asset is his shot, scoring goals, and right now it appears he's treating the puck like it was a grenade and wanting nothing to do with it - trying to dish it off whenever it gets near him. Totally lost any confidence he had and the end result is he's not providing any value to the team right now, and with a $5.5MM cap hit this year and next that's concerning.
  10. $13MM may be his gross earnings, but from that he pays agents fees, income taxes, personal trainers etc. Still would earn a reasonable amount but would need to invest wisely if he wants it to last for decades.
  11. Surprised Boeser wasn't selected for the shootout, playing in his home state in front of family and friends. His "shoot first" mentality may have yielded a better result than the feeble deke attempts from Kuzmenko, Miller and Pettersson..
  12. Great to see Joshua Dakota continue to be dominant on the forecheck and along the boards. His strength and determination drives that line.
  13. Defenseman, drafted 3rd. round, 80th overall in 2022 by Vancouver Canucks
  14. Some of the postings are, in my opinion, crude and in poor taste. Stick to hockey.
  15. Thanks for putting together this GDT - it's appreciated. One amendment - it's not being contested at "Da Garage" - it's being played in Calgary. Otherwise, great job - thanks.
  16. A well thought out and articulate post - well done and thank you. Only thing I would add is that it provides valuable cap space for the Flames. As a Canucks fan since 1967 I am a fan of this trade. Like to see some beef and snarl in the back end. Cheers.
