  1. Not going to find a soft underbelly on this Dallas team. That is crazy depth even without Hintz in the lineup.
  2. Turns out, at least temporarily, that this was a premature take! Regardless of relative suckage, gotta love the ebb and flow of the playoff season! And what’s with the game sounding like we’re heading through an underground tunnel/vacuum tube? Is it just me? TNT sound engineers are wrecking the experience. Bloody American hockey broadcast wanna be’s. They’re the ones who suck!
  3. As historic (histrionic) as this Burkie press conference proved to be, it’s impact had no bearing on the outcome of that series with Detroit and all subsequent series played either by the Canucks or any other franchise in existence. It certainly lives on in the hearts of the downtrodden and those who pine for this style and level of leadership but it pales as an effective battle cry for systematic change at the league level. I’m a sucker for the passion though!
  4. Avalanche radio guy is a class A homer dick. Sirius game feed is entertaining for his comically dismissive calls and crybaby tones. Always makes me appreciate the level of unbiased professionalism we enjoy listening to in this market.
  5. Rangers are exceeding expectations I think. Living a bit of a charmed life. Like all teams that are left at this point, they’re gettable. Shesterkin has never been a “lock” in my mind and has been prone to episodes of basic brain farts. What is truly to their advantage at this point is brevity of their series. Everybody else will spend the next couple of weeks carving each other up, and the Rangers will be home and cooled out, nursing their owchies.
  6. I feel like Brind’Amour has that team so precisely tuned for the majority of the regular season that there seems to be no extra gear when it comes to the playoffs. The Rangers are an example of team that is just do dialed in right now, they rarely land a false step and have been able to rise to the challenge consistently. Watch the Canes tie it up now!
  7. Carolina leads the league in meaningless shots on goal. Just haven’t seen the threat especially in this second period. Rangers had three times the good chances. But then I could just be imagining this.
  8. High, low, middle event hockey, we could have scored three goals in the first period if could just get shots on net! That was a lot pressure leading to opportunities. Is Nashville really that good at suppressing? My observations are they are playing like rabid dogs in all zones and can stay committed because of our lack of goals and inability to take them away from dictating the way the game is played. Our effort is certainly not flagging but it seems in trying to play low event, Tocchet’s strategy is suppressing aggressive offensive opportunity. I guess I’m of the mind that if we’re going to go down let’s go down all guns blazing! Which is probably why I’m not an NHL coach!
  9. Wild generalizations aside, but why is it so easy for all the other teams to score goals? #driedupwell
  10. Flatulence jokes aside, Dallas did indeed stink out the joint …
  11. 1. Vegas is flat out uninspired in this game. They play like this they are easy pickings in the playoffs. 2. This isn’t the playoffs 3. Despite the difference in age, and the lefty shot, I’d take Matthias Ekholm and his 6.25 for the next two years over anything Filip Hronek might demand going into the future.
  12. Expected goals is trending up lately …. so we got that going for us
  13. I’d rather we pump in 5 or 6 goals each night and be able to watch the individual stats pop - but call me crazy, in the long run it’s better for the team to be playing (and winning) close games, regardless of the level of competition.
