I predicted that since Tocchet got them going so good last season. I also knew how good Silovs is since he played the WC. I wasn’t worried at all. Especially since Tolopilo seems to be very good also. I said we can miss one or two of our stars and still win. We have a tremendous depth.

The problem with you is that you’re far from serious. 1. Petey is paid a tier down from the top players. 2. When Petey falls he usually get points anyway because he can get the puck through. 3. McDavid has been without points in two games against us and he is the top dog in that team. He gets the best wingers etc. Thinking like you do they should be paid equally because the one time Petey got a great pass he scored. How many great passes does Petey get in a game? Or how often does his wingers get i to positions so he can pass them? I promise you, if Petey got Boeser, Miller, Lindholm and Hughes working to get more space for him we’re talking McDavid ppg. Petey doesn’t get that support. McDavid get that support.

He should have been banned from playing anymore this serie after that high stick against Hughes. it was very close to take an eye and it was deliberately.

Yes, Petey and Tocchets is two different styles and players like Miller Garland thrives while players like Petey has to change how they play almost completely. one can say a bottom six mentality in the top six players.

For me the stretch started when Tocchet wanted to work more on the defence and have a top 9 team. It limits offence and Petey us often surrounded by two players. It’s still much easier to skate on the left side for our players.

Sometimes the ice was so bad that our stars like Petey had to handle fumbling pucks and that is bad if you want great passing and offence. So it’s maybe the ice that has tilted the home games a bit.

I rather see that we win without Petey and show how much better as a team we are since they are hopelessly lost without McDavid.

One thing you don’t recall here is that the team were much worse. we rely on third/fourth line nowadays. Mottes line were often pushed back so he scored on a counterattack almost alone Now we have a defense that can help the fourth line and now Motte probably got a lot more points. Think of Gudbranson and Pouliot holding the fort

The points he got back then he did it on his own. If he had the same oppurtunity like Suter, Lafferty, PDG, Hogz etc to play in a top six role I don’t believe he would have done worse.

Remember Motte, also a feisty player that could have played a similar role as Hogz and Garland. It seems the NHL is buzzing with that kind of players. I don’t have the experiance to know by myself. Good players that are kept at a low salary and just wait for an oppurtunity to show what they can do in a more free role with the right players. we can let Bains, Karlsson, Sasson and Räty come up and be cheap players just as Hogz and Podz are now.

As I see it Lindholm and Hronek is the two players we need to sign. They’re hardest to get and the stabilise the team. If we let Lindholm go that team will have the upper hand against us next season and that is something I want to avoid. Then we have three 1st C in the middle, a top D pair and a first class goalie With afew cheap players coming in like Willander, Lekkerimäki, Silovs
