RWJC
Posted this in the TRS section but wanted to see whom from CFF would be in on Fabbro and what they’d offer up? https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=170098 Local boy, RHD, average size but still has room to improve. I’d offer Garland and a 3rd but unsure if Trotz would bite on something like that. The Predators are believed to have looked into the possibility of moving defenseman Dante Fabbro this summer, reports David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period. The 25-year-old’s future with the team has seemed murky at times over the past couple of years and the fact that he took a step back last season offensively (going from 24 points to just 11) won’t help his value. Nevertheless, Fabbro has shown himself to be capable of holding down a fourth or fifth spot on a defensive depth chart and at a $2.5MM AAV, it’s not a particularly pricey gamble for a team to bring him in. The fact he still has another year of club control after this one doesn’t hurt either. Clearly, Nashville didn’t find a trade offer to their liking but Fabbro could be one to keep an eye on as new GM Barry Trotz puts his stamp on this team. Snoop Hogg
I think they may seek a similar player in return, but up front. One of Hoglander, Podkolzin or even Karlsson and maybe a 4th or 5th round pick.
BlockerHigh
Canucks don’t need Fabbro this name has been talks about for years He’s 25 and has over 200 GP in the NHL. He is what he is he was given every chance to succeed in Nashville and has never lived up to the hype. He’s small, not very good defensively and not physical. Those aren’t qualities we need on a bottom pairing, nor for 2.5 mil. Rather us play McWard, Juulsen, Johannson, Woo as our 6D if and when we move Myers. Develop our own now. Cheaper and as good or better defensively. 1
Huggy Bear
I like Nashville as a trade partner. He wears 57 though, so we’d have to send Myers back . …..and they’d need to add Trenin 1

It’s basically a free trial to see if the player fits.

I can’t see the Canucks waiving Hoglander, he made signficant strides in Abby last year. they’ll waive players like PDG or Studnicka before they waive Hoglander
cripplereh
We have many RHD that should make the jump even better f Myers goes before came. So trading for another RHD that's the same or worse then we have seems a bad idea.
puckstopper
Remember the last defenseman we got from the Nashville D-factory? It worked out pretty good for us before didn't it?

I think a lot of people think he’s better than he is because of his draft position and being local. he was given every opportunity to be top 4 in Nashville and is a 5/6 now and couldn’t break the top 4 because he doesn’t have the offense. At the same time, he’s not big and physical (which we need in a bottom paring). Look at his stats, Ethan Bear is actually more useful for us as a bottom pair dman as he’s more effective defensively and put up with the same amount of points. And I’m no big fan of Bear. hard pass for me Edited September 30, 2023 by BlockerHigh
Hammertime
Fabbro doesn't do much for us. I have nothing against the player he's just not what we need. 1
