Seems weird as a fifth rounder in 3 years time is nothing. Min is hurting for RD and Calen is on a cheap contract.

Good bet for SJS.  At the very least, it takes Burroughs off their PP.

Seems like a good move for the Sharks though, Sharks can afford to be patient with a younger player who may be a bit of a project whereas the Wild will likely be amping up their drive to compete as soon as all that dead cap comes off. 

 

Three goals and 29 points in 62 games last season, 24 in April.

yea this makes NO sense. 0.5 ppg last year and played top-4 minutes for half the year

Hard to say. Could be as simple as San Jose's GM having more regular contact with the WIld GM, could be a better working relationship, could be a lot of things.

If Future Considerations were a former Penguin we'd have traded for him by now

We probably didn't have any interest. He's not the shutdown type we need. Might as well just hold out for Bear to be healthy than give up even the smallest asset.

Making room for such allstars as Dakota Mermis and Kyle Masters. Lambos could come up but he would have to play his offhand.

Dunno, could see an argument for another puck moving sort if the idea is to keep Hronek and Hughes together, but I do think the Canucks are looking for someone more well rounded than Addison. I think the Sharks can afford to be less picky given they're bottom feeders. It's also easier for them to make moves right now given their cap scenario, less so for us.
