  1. Yes, fantastic news eh? 90,000 new jobs, boat loads of immigration, not one tick higher unemployment. In fact your graph shows unemployment in BC, where most of us here on the forums live, is an astounding 5% and falling! Oh wait, you thought it was a negative or bad report? This is a good news report. edit: also want to point out the 2014/2015 zone on your chart shows the HARPER government, the last conservative PM was waffling around 7 to 7.25% unemployment. ROFL.... your whole post literally backs up my assertion that Canada is NOT broken, there is just a very loud nutjob begging to be voted in to the PM spot with no platform other than undoing what the current government has spent almost ten years doing. What a freaking joke of a pathetic little man Pierre Poilievre is. With the exception of the COVID disaster for 2 to 3 years, the Trudeau Liberals have steadily marched unemployment down down DOWN to a pre-covid level of about 5.75%.
  2. The Canadian economy gained 90,000 jobs in April, much higher than the average of 20,000 jobs many economists were predicting for the latest Labour Force Survey numbers from Statistics Canada. EDIT: it is almost as if Canada isn't broken at all, but who would lie about such a thing as that?
  3. Their whole schtick is "do you like the Liberals policies but you have fallen for the attacks on the PM? Then we are the party for you! what i am saying is they will never take flight in any meaningful way because they are only intend to be the liberal party but a tick back to the right from left of center. it is a party built simply around the conservatives push to oust JT. Just my opinion of course, and it leaves out a lot of the rough edges, but in broad strokes that is all it looks like to me. Just like the PPC is just Bernier's version of the CPC... he got butthurt that he wasn't the new leader of the right wing movement..so he made his own clubhouse. lol.
  4. Dallas has completed our exit interviews and we are giddy for next year! Sadly at this time of year we have to say goodbye to some very talented folks, as it is an effort every season to keep the roster fresh, exciting and top of the class. With that in mind, we are happy to talk with any GM about acquiring the expiring RFA rights to: Taylor Raddysh Boris Katchouk Matthew Phillips Additionally we will be releasing UFA's: Robert Hagg Joel Edmundson Sheldon Rempel Finally, as we addressed at the end of the regular season, we wish Jacob Silfverberg a happy retirement! Anyone interested in any of these players rights can reach out anytime with a late pick or similar offer, and I am happy to help these fine lads move forward in their careers. I thank each and every one for being a part of the Dallas Stars inaugural season and with you all the best moving forward.
  5. Before my time but I presume Punch Imlach?
  6. yeah this is a huge difference. 1 in 5 people over a ten year period was the original claim... 20% would be captured by the increase over 10 years...safe to assume roughly 2% a year then... ...and NOW they walk that very small annual number back to an even smaller un-specified number, likely in the 0.1% range as I tried to point out when this particular argument was raging here at the time of the increase. Frankly, if you are in the 0.1% of Canadians who will be captured by this new capital gains tax 'bracket' then congrats, You are already filthy stinking rich and won't miss the 180 thousand it will cost you on your 3.5million dollar sale. What a joke all the poorish people (relative to a person making 3.5milliion in a given year in capital gains) supporting Pierre Poilievre over this schooled and well acted outrage are. "i might sell something one day for 3.5 million, and by god when I do, i am dead against another 180k in taxes...." says every Rage Farmer believer in Canada. Good luck with that unless of course you are in the 0.1% bracket, in which case, congrats, you are good, you won life. Take er easy and relax.
  7. FIRE IT UP!!! 2 hour warning... WOOOOOOOoooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooo!
  8. More long winded and irrelevant info perhaps, but not more honest. I am honest in all my dealings. Good day.
  9. To be perfectly honest, I have voted for the BCUP's when they were BC Libs, the provincial green party, the provincial NDP, federal Conservatives when they were the PC party, and the federal Greens before they had a seat, and the federal Liberal Party. I might actually vote for the federal NDP in my new riding in the next few elections, a distinct possibility. (edit: almost forgot the conservative Social Credit party in BC was one of my first ever votes) However as far as PP is concerned, he will never have my vote. His candidate won't win in my riding anyways, but what is on offer in the current federal Conservative Party does not interest me as a veteran, as a guy from a farming and logging family, as a college educated white man, as a disabled canadian or as a retired dude. I tick a lot of boxes, and in running down the chart of what Peter Poutine offers, and what his party offers Canada, I find it sadly lacking in details and high on abuse of powers, low on helping the most in need among us and high on giving to the richest 1% of Canada. In short there is nothing there to vote for when it comes to the career politician and rage farmer Pierre Poilievre. You are correct.
  10. Wait a tick: the guy who is brilliant campaign strategy is to say over and over these past few weeks that he has no problem using the Notwithstanding Clause as Prime Minister to get around our civil and human rights ...and some of you think Gay marriage and Abortion rights are safe in his party's hands? With him at the helm?> and Religious whackos in his cabinet??????? I was born on a tuesday, but it wasn't last tuesday, NO WAY am i voting for a guy who is openly saying he will curtail our rights with the notwithstanding clause anytime he feels like it.
  11. Just no where else to put this, but I wanted to share as I am uber-proud of our Canadian Royal Military College team this year as they have captured FIRST PLACE in the "international team' division at SANDHURST Military Skills Competition, and 2nd place overall among 45 teams and 15 nations!!! After the cool intro video you can jump to the 10 minute mark to see "the most lethal squad award" ~ Canada Next up in this long video is at the 24 minute mark, where you will see the "International Trophy" award to first place from any nation not called the USA. ~Canada Finally you can jump to 35:30 to see them get their 2nd overall awards, losing only to the USM Academy, from what I can tell only due to the USMA folks winning the top physical fitness award. It must have been close! GO CANADA!!!!! Truth Duty Valour
  12. https://www.thestar.com/politics/federal/violent-anti-gender-threats-to-continue-over-coming-year-canadas-spy-agency-warns/article_30ef3600-0ca2-11ef-aa0e-97f166354079.html?source=newsletter&utm_source=ts_nl&utm_medium=email&utm_email=82ACB64E8561B014C56542FC0E36A695&utm_campaign=frst_213430 Violent ‘anti-gender’ threats to continue over coming year, Canada’s spy agency warns Canada’s intelligence agency predicts violence fuelled by “anti-gender” ideology is expected to continue over the next year, potentially driven by recent attacks and religion-motivated extremism.
  13. Found your pump song...used to play it on my college radio show in teh before time at UVIC's CFUV Radio. hahaha
  14. I am so glad we got the weinermobile as a like button out of the whole Kessel affair. lol.
  15. and they should. I was involved in removing some foreign bad actors from prostests around the first ROTO going to afghanistan, at a prostest in Sherbrook Quebec, a hand full of them were similarly self sufficient financially, from unknown sources to us at the time, and not from here, or planning on staying here, just in town long enough to stir up a few hundred protestors and burn some things. Unfortunately this columbia middle aged rich dad isn't a new story to me. Seen it myself a handful of times and heard about it dozens of times. That is why I am skeptical of any large scale protest where generally newer adults and the naive are showing up in droves to support something that on the surface sounds worth supporting, till you dig deeper. ANyways..i am rambling now. Night all. Didn't mean to stumble back in here.
  16. You wanna know what is weird? The guy who started out leading the protest against the Logging near Fairy Lake by a First Nation group and their partners ignited a huge protest with dozens arrested over the last couple years, and cost the Nation a lot of money in policing, protecting their loggers and in costly delays.... that asshole is an american middle aged son of a logging empire billionaire south of the BC border. Go figure eh? Follow the money indeed.
  17. It was pointed out to me after I posted this that the phase 1 shuffle is only for the purposes of the draft lotto tomorrow... above my pay grade, but yeah, I think only 2 winners, and they cant move up more than ten spots.
  18. Off topic, do you gave Swedish Flower Chickens?
  19. Don't elect CON MEN to lead the country and we should steer clear of that tarpit. https://breachmedia.ca/pierre-poilievre-conservatives-stack-council-corporate-lobbyists/ this article adds some insight into why the CONs are voting against todays pharmacare bill. Canadians supporting CON MEN against their own best interests always confuses me.
