I think it's two or three at most from that list. Myers likely will stay for a hometown discount, but he deserves the money. He's elevated his game. Not sure if we should re-sign Lindholm, mostly because we have other players we need to sign and we have no cap space. I think Hronek should be traded though. I'm sure we can find someone in UFA who can take his spot. Nothing against the guy, but if he's asking for 8M, that is a hard pass.

I don't think Joshua is a flash in the pan, despite what some of the posters above are saying. We've seen him play on different lines. The chemistry is OBVIOUS. Even with Kuzmenko's good year, we KNEW he had some flaws in his game that we put up with. On the other hand, Joshua is not like that. I genuinely think he likes it here and he will do what he can do keep him. I say sign Joshua and big Z. I think to make space for these two, trade Hronek.

[PGT] Edmonton at Vancouver ~ Round 2 - Game 1

There's nothing hypersensitive about criticizing a supposed racist gesture (Not sure if that's what ACTUALLY happened. We need more information before we accuse Coffey) I'm NOT for cancel culture. I just think it's a little ironic that a certain demographic of people would be making excuses to defend shitty behaviour, while clammering about being "tough on crime". Hate speech IS NOT allowed under our Constitution. If Coffey did what he did, he would most likely lose his job. Hate the result? Don't do shitty things like this and you won't face the consequences. -

They're called consequences. Why are people so afraid of consequences for fucking up like this (supposedly)? I don't know the situation and can't say this situation actually happened or not, so I'm neutral. But that's a shitty thing to do. -

I was one of the biggest critics of the Lindholm trade and I'll stand by my word. I was wrong about the trade - and I'm so happy about it. Lindholm WAS worth the trade, even if he walks. Two big big goals in these playoffs. -
[Signing] Travis Green to Ottawa

What exactly has Green achieved throughout his time here? Results matter. The fact that he has had a significant role in constructing the NHL rosters AND his assistants show that he's not a good coach. -

Here's the thing though: whether you deny it or not, the fact remains that the core WAS Benning's. Allvin/JR have added their touches (to great success), but simply denying that Pettersson, Hughes, Miller, Demko, Hoglander (massive pieces for this team) wasn't Benning's contribution is just dishonest. Green is not a good coach, given the many opportunities he's had to change the way he coaches. He's not been given one or two chances, but MULTIPLE, especially under Benning. I don't like that Benning gave this unproven coach that extension. The assistant coaches WERE handpicked by Green, as were his rosters. He was stale because his coaching is stale. It hasn't adapted. -

Many people thought that Lindy Ruff had lost the room, but when Ruff was fired, NJ was not in a better spot. TG is NOT an upgrade. -

Yes, and the fact that JB extended him is a joke. Benning probably would've been doing well with a better coach who could advise better players. Green could be handed a winning lottery ticket and he'd still end up losing it. -

And yet the core was built entirely of Benning. Green has had six years or so of rolling tires with Benning. You seriously can't make this up. If you're gonna blame Benning, you HAVE to blame Green as well for his inability to coach. Now this dude has handled: Hughes, Pettersson, Demko, Boeser, Hischier, and the Hughes brothers. How many coaches have as many chances as Green has with THESE players? -

He couldn't even do it with Jersey (as an interim) and they have more promise with Hischier (established player) and the two Hughes players. Soon we're gonna hear from Green apologists who will say that Green wasn't given a fair shake. How many "fair shakes" does this guy get? The fact that a coach had Pettersson, Hughes, and Demko (or Markstrom) at his disposal is really a dream. -

Come on dude. You're pushing those goal posts further and further away. Pettersson was phenomenal when Green came in. Arguably he has played worse after Tocchet, but you can't use the excuse that Hughes and Pettersson were "not that good". The problem wasn't Green unable to coach them. The problem was Green unable to utilize the roster to his best benefit. Every single year of his coaching tenure, he had a losing record. In fact, Willie D had a WORSE roster with no superstar players and they have an IDENTICAL win rate. I give Green credit for the bubble, but after that phenomenal bubble performance, he couldn't get it done. Make no mistake, Green had EVERY opportunity to handpick his rosters. He did it with Benning - and Benning even EXTENDED Green. But we don't see a winning record at all - not once. Objectively speaking, he's not a good coach. And from the eye test, he's not a good coach either. How many unsuccessful dump and chases do we see under Green? The guy makes these cute little defensive passes that serve no real purpose. His breakouts are nowhere near as good as Tocchet's. Tocc and Green may be friends, but the coaching that these two do are MILES apart.
