  1. Islamic state kills several tourist groups in Afghanistan.  Anti Taliban, go figure, groups surging in search of their own power. As unrest builds towards more civil war.

    I debate there is a common theme. To, say, power struggles between the PLO and Hamas 30 years ago?

    At 1:03 Katy Jurado's character's words are how I feel about the debate here most of the time. It's a sentiment that is repeated several times in the film but always with a "thrown away" delivery.

    She has no animosity towards Kelly's character who makes a valid emotion-based argument for her position.

    But eventually this happens:

    Oh no  Mrs Ramirez.  Do they frighten you that much?

    Ooops.

    Serves me right for cockily ghosting thinking we would meet.  For the record I am cheering for @Theo5789.

    No disrespect, just have a policy of getting behind the team that knocked me out.

    I am not ALL bad sportsmanship...

  4. Imagine next year;

    Hughes Pesce

    Zadorov Hronek

    Sousy  Willander

    Also love me some Tanev!  More than happy to have him back!

    Happy, very happy to pay Pesce in lieu of even a vastly improved this year Myers.  Whooda thunk he would last all 5 years here BTW, say 2 years ago? Tanev again...

    At forward I also backed acquiring Adam Henrique at the deadline.  I was fine, am fine, with Lindholm, actually the better player.  Just believed Henrique would be in our re-sign range which, sorta, still holds true now!  It just serves that it is great to have a 3C capable of defensive draws, and fiery attitude. Saves having our top lines dragged in to McDavid / MacKinnon match ups.

    By the way, Astra Zeneca vax has just recently been withdrawn worldwide, guess why?  Because it causes BLOOD CLOTS!!!!!

    https://www.independent.co.uk/news/science/astrazeneca-covid-vaccine-withdraw-blood-clots-b2541291.html

    If I were Boeser I would demand an investigation and I would sue those bastards.

    You can keep trying to block the sun with one finger, but eventually the truth will come out and all these criminals (vax pushers) will see jail or worse.

    Not sure if you know?

    All the vaccines had side effects of sorts.  In AZ the blood clot incident level was something like a serious near death side effect 1/1,000,000.  Death initially 1/2 of those (one in two million) as Doctor's had a round or two before they could recognize or understand the issue.  Which once diagnosed and studied (quickly), treatment and solutions then reduced deaths to 1/5 of, then 1/20.

    You are correct. It was withdrawn over even that death rate. But that said, was 1/3rd the cost and made it available to 3rd world countries via donation and saved millions of lives in comparison to its death by side effect rate. Anti-Vaxxers moved to Texas and Florida to have Freedumb where the death rate from Covid itself was almost 1,000 times higher than in Canada.  Statistically as high as 1/260 who caught Covid versus one in 2000.  Where I lived measures enforced were even higher, as ability to isolate easier & death rates were better than 1/25,000. People take birth control pills, the rate of clot issues starts at ten per 10,000. People accept benefits outweigh risk?

    Meanwhile;

    Athletes have been having blood clot & heart issues at vastly higher rates than one in one million for years.  All preceding social media crazed conspiracy theory becoming popular.  People getting medical degree's reading Google on their phone per se. It's a combination of the extreme stress, constant hydration issues under exertion, diet, and other stresses that an athlete asks of her / his body. Henrik Lundqvist had pericarditis over a congenital issue most simply live with. He was treated for 15 years. It was an issue for him because of what he put his body through. Not to mention athletes take treatments including blood therapy, performance enhancing supplements, for some steroids or the safer versions that are legal. Which all also have side effects. In pro athletes factors like just constantly sitting in an airplane. You know, where they also tell people to getup, stretch, shake a leg..., with pressure changes, high altitudes, varying sleep patterns.

    Trainers have carried and are trained in use of blood thinners for good reasons, for over 50 years.

    But go ahead, never eat an apple you were given on halloween.

    Tampa's defence is getting pretty old with McDonagh and Hedman. I always forget how young Point and Kucherov are though. Tampa's probably going to keep trying to push for another cup for the next 2+ years, with or without Stamkos.

    Not sure they'll be able to keep up with the likes of the Rangers and Panthers in the East.

    Tampa, no doubt, realizes they were missing something since he left!

    What I am not sure of is why Nash does this?  Even without Ekholm, warriors O'Reilly & McDonagh dragged them to a play off invite not many expected. For the first time in eons, they don't seem to have an arms long list of blue chip D in the system...

    Maybe Trotz actually planned / preferred to be in the lottery???

    maybe that ridiculous missile attack pissed off the Saudi's just a little too much?

    LOL; the post above was for you and this question Bob.

  8. Which attack; the several hundred missile response to an Israeli missile that hit Iran's embassy in Syria?

    That also did less damage than a subsequent 3 missile retaliation by Israel deep inside Iran?

    I can see these bastards laughing at each other playing poker over ______ girls.  Police commissioner to IRG commander;

    "haha you flucks couldn't hit a Jewish barn with homing pigeon shit!''

    IRG commander;

    ''What, you insolent Turk, how come you wear a Hijab more than girls in Tehran!''

    They step back 5 paces to duel; A Saudi cleric shoots from over the commanders shoulder shoots 7 times before they hit 7 paces to mark turnaround. puts his finger to his mouth and says '''Sssshhh!'''

    From posts on Discord I think @Theo5789 and Vancouver won 2knd round series? I suspect this is correct.  If so congrats!!!

    Last I looked, conglomerate including round 1 I was 1st overall a day or three ago. I did not record the toals after round 1 though. Is there an official total from after round 1 & therefore round 2 winners?

  11. The Butcher or Hangman of Iran.  For his roles in shocking security initiatives to discipline public dating back to the late 1980's.

    Apparently not a nice man.

  12. Just south of the Azerbaijan border; missing as are cabinet ministers. Although some survivors have been contacted.

    Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi is missing after a helicopter in his convoy suffered a ‘hard landing’ this afternoon, state media reported.

    Raisi had been on an official visit to northwestern Iran when his helicopter came down in a forested area in the mountains just south of Iran’s border with Azerbaijan.

    Of his convoy of three Bell 212 helicopters – with a delegation of ministers on board – the two other aircraft reached their destination.

    Search and rescue teams found the wreckage of the helicopter this evening, but wet and windy weather is hampering rescue efforts, state media said.

    Though, adding to the confusion, Iran’s Red Crescent has denied such reports.

    Those missing also include Iranian minister of foreign affairs Hossein Amirabdollahian, East Azerbaijan governor Malek Rahmati and Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Ale-Hashem, representative of the Iranian Supreme Leader to East Azerbaijan.

    On the official Instagram account of Raisi, 63, a post urged the public to ‘offer prayers for the health of the president and his companions’.

    Raisi was elected President in 2021 after eight years of reformist leadership in Iran.

    A longtime jurist and former chief justice, Raisi has been tipped as the most likely person to succeed Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

    Raisi’s presidency has been plagued with protests against deteriorating economic conditions and the oppression of women, often resulting in violent crackdowns on the opposition and members of the public.

    Interesting. Azerbaijani / Persia (Iran) are not exactly close allies. Azerbaijan having amongst the strongest relationships with Israel of Muslim states.

    In spite of a Shia majority? Nagorno Karabakh not a shining example, but also known as being more tolerant of ethnic and religious diversity.

    They do have strong ties to Turkey. Are an active part of Belt & Road Chinese and other initiatives to reproduce historic Silk Road trading routes, bypassing Iran & contested sea shipping lanes. As an East / West or Europe / Asian trading super highway. Including pipelines and other means of transporting water, gas, etc. all which run just North of the Iranian border.
