Starting to feel like Dan Milstein is a snake oil salesman who sold this player to Canucks management. Not surprised he's taking his clown car to Calgary now so he can dupe Craig Conroy.

[RUMOUR] Vancouver may be pursuing Jake Guentzel

I'm starting to believe that Dubas is going to help push Canucks to cup contender status just to get back at Toronto. -

Guentzel cap hit will 1.2 million by the trade deadline while Canucks will have 1.8 million in cap space. I think he's the primary target for Canucks to go all-in and if they do acquire him, will be the piece that pushes them to Cup contender. Guentzel-Miller-Boeser Mikheyev-Pettersson-Lindholm Joshua-Blueger-Garland Hoglander-Suter-Lafferty That is a ridiculously deep line-up that can match up with any other contender. -
I thought we could sign him for 2 more years around 3 million per, but the way he's playing, he's going to grab 4-5 million. 6'8 RH Defenceman putting up his level of production this season are rare.

[Trade] Canucks acquire Nikita Zadorov from the Flames
Bane replied to RJCF96's topic in Trades, Rumours, and Signings
alright, Allvin is my favourite GM since Gillis. This man has a plan and executes flawlessly. This is how I see the Canucks D shaping up next year after Cole's contract expires. Hughes-Hronek Zadorov-Bear Soucy-Myers -
I am looking forward to the Mackinnon vs Lafferty, aka homeless man’s Mackinnon, battle.
-
Hughes-Hronek Zadorov-Bear Soucy-Willander Myers (signed to a cheap contract) that’s the defence pairings I expect by early 2025.
-
Willander is 6'1, 190lbs as an 18 year old, Hronek is 6 feet, 190 pounds, and Hunter is 6 feet, 190 points. That's not undersized, size only comes in handy for stick checking (Carson Soucy) or clearing the crease (which is a bad position to be in if you're constantly defending your net). You need mobile, transitional defenceman that can retrieve the puck fast and break out of the defensive zone, that's the ideal defenceman. You also don't have to be 6'4 to win board battles, Hughes and Garland excel that at by their skating and elusiveness.
-
you can temper your expectations all you want but the level he's producing as a 18 year old D+1, 2nd OHL season, is unprecedented. He has a higher pace than Ellis 101 point season and closing in on Brandt Clarke's 1.96 ppg season. One caveat about those two players is that they scored at an extremely high pace in their 3rd/4th full OHL season. Even Carson Rephkof is in his 3rd full OHL season. Hunter right now is in an extremely rare position and even more amazing is that he's a right-handed defenceman.
-
I would actually love to bring him back next season for another year at 2.5-3 million, 1 year contract to play the third pairing while Willander still cooks.
-
He plays like a homeless man's Nathan Mackinnon which would probably be one of the best bottom six forwards in the league. The speed and offence he brings is worth a lot more than a 5th rounder.
-
Just remember the bottom tier media in Vancouver and Canada were saying Canucks are hopeless long term and need a full rebuild just a few months ago. Now Friedman goes on TV saying Canucks are Canada’s best hope.
-
The only reason anyone is saying it’s debatable is because of his draft selection. If a team reached and drafted him first round draft pick, he would be called steal of the entire draft. the numbers he’s putting up are unprecedented for a defenceman. 2 PPG in a D+1 year, only his second year in the OHL is another tier of production.
-
I bet Zadorov is a Canuck next year.
-
right now he’s as goods as a top 5 pick. Unprecedented numbers

Pettersson is a bit injured that’s why he has slowed down in his offence. how the heck does John Tortorella change how his team plays within 2 seasons while we’re stuck with a structureless, soft team after a brigade of coaching changes. It’s like nothing can get through them to just play sound defence or sustain offensive pressure.
