  1. Closing out a series is a monumental task. As such, doing so was not in the cards for our Canucks. Huge pressure in hostile territory against a desperate opponent. A desperate opponent who's been there before I might add. This is new territory for our team. To get to where they are now is more than I could've asked for. They're giving us hope up the ying yang and continue to do so. Needless to say, game 7 be a big game for both sides. Even though the pressure is huge for us, I think the onus is on the Oilers to take the series. Oilers being touted as a definitive Stanley Cup contender right from the start of the season has all the pressure on them. For the Oilers to lose this series would be a team altering scenario for them. Everything from Oiler's management on down would be under scrutiny and chastised. Changes would happen on a large scale. IMO, we've got nothing to lose and everything to gain. I'm proud of the boys regardless of the outcome. But being a Canuck Fanboy for as long as I have, well? Y'all know I wanna see our boys whup Oiler ass. Let's go. Let's do this. Go Canucks Go!!!!!
  2. Demmer is with us in our Stanley Cup or bust quest of glory. That's always been the plan. We stick to it. 'Nuff said. However.................. Silovs makes for a case of a different scenario to be sure. Hmmm.................... This is the scenario as I see it now. Sadly we could lose Smitty. I like him. That being said, Smitty could still be in the picture. That's if he can be resigned to a short term cap friendly salary. However seeing Silovs this playoff, that's probably not gonna happen. Regarding goalies in Abbey; do they want Silovs and Tippy to be the tandem for the baby Canucks?!?!?!?` Do they want Tippy and ? down there instead?!?!?!?? That's another scenario I'm sure Management is looking at. But Silovs is certainly making his case for a permanent position as backup for the big club the playoffs. For sure I'd do it. But JR/PA would not. I mean Utah could take that salary cap for sure. What if we take off Mika and put in Hronek instead? Now there's a splash for Utah! Besides, we got Willander in a couple of seasons. With the names going our way, will have two top grade RD prospects, a decent Goale stock, and with the picks, go for a scoring winger and big RH centre with two way ability. DO IT!!!!!
  3. I wanted all the feel good vibes I could get of our triumphant effort and win in game 5. Yesterday morning I got to page 13 in the PGT thread and was gonna go through the rest this morning. Wowzers! It went from 30 to 50 pages and says, This topic is now closed to further replies. So I didn't read the rest as I wanted. But the feel; good vibes live on, man! J.....T.........MILLERRRRRRRRRR>>>>> LET'S GO PETEY!!!! Go Canucks Go!!!!!
  4. I'm concerned, but at the same time, not concerned. I'm aware RT's voiced that there will be changes. As to what they are? We'll know come game time. I mean, I'm not gonna speculate as to what they could be. The team knows the position they're in and that they need a better game. So with that, and with nothing else to contribute to the conversation. I say............... Go Canucks Go!!!!!
  5. Long post. Read the whole thing! Buzzsaw; your talent for proper punctuation and sentence structure is to be commended. I wish more posters in CFF, or any forum for that matter, would try and do the same. It's so difficult to read a whole block of letters formed into words without periods, commas and spaces. But I digress. I'm rambling. On to topic......... I tend to agree. I mean, I'm no NHL coach and who am I to dole out advice as such to a potential Jack Adams winner. But..............dude's gotta do something, man! I get that we're kind of inexperienced in the concept of playoff hockey. And not just the players, but our head coach as well. I believe this is Tocchet's first dance in NHL playoffs as a head coach, no???!?!!?? If so, he's learning too. We all know that JR/PA were working to find another winger of impact for the team by trade deadline earlier. Also pursuing another defenseman in Tanev. Alas it was not to be and therefore we'd have no choice but to rock who we had come playoff time. A good lineup to be sure, but missing those elements for assured playoff success. When you think of it, we really only possess four top sixers in JTM, Flow, Petey and Lindholm. The 3rd line, Daks, Blueger, Garly were touted as such all season. Everyone else jumped around and were tried up and down; including Daks, Blueger and Garly! But y'all know that already. So really, that's what we had to work with come playoffs. For sure we had a stellar season and being crowned the top dogs in the Pacific division was a good thing. For what the experts and pundits had said at the beginning of the season, well? We showed them, eh? A new coach in Tocch's got us that identity we've been so lacking, and JR/PA's moves to bring in big ass dmen shored up that aspect of things. But other than bringing in Lindholm and perhaps Mika, there seemingly wasn't much more regarding the offensive side of things. Suter and Blueger certainly weren't acquired for their offensive prowess. Offensively, much was expected by existing players in the roster, Daks, Garly, Hogz and perhaps PDG, Aman and Podz. I dunno man. Perhaps I'm being a homer here but, there's something that can be worked out. Daks and Garly were the biggest risers of those named. You can put Hogz there too. But of these three, are they top Sixers?!?!?!?!?? Is Sutter?!?!!?? PDG? Okay. The playoffs. To me as it is right now? We've exceeded any expectations thus far. My expectations as well as the pundits. I'm loving' the hell out of what I'm witness to this playoffs with our Canucks. To be critical of what goes on within the games and what can be done to counter adversity and such is totally up to RT. Perhaps going back to THE THIRD LINE for a start. Keep Flow and JTM together with Suter and.....I dunno..........Petey-Lindholm with?!?!?!?!???? you tell me, man! Cheers. Go Canucks Go!!!!!
  6. The Hockey Gods were playing with us mere mortals. Having fun at our dispense. Frustration........ Hopeful.......... Glee..........Disappointment........................ Some guys gotta start showing up. 'Nuff said. 2 outta 3? Very doable. Let's go Canucks!!!!!
  7. Good RHD's are a rarity to be sure. My guess is JR/PA will try to get 're done. But my guess is that Management will move him if not. Big moves are part of JR's management style and why would he change. That's business and if it goes down that way, so be it. JR/PA will make good for our team. Be it drafts, prospects, roster player, or a combination of such, I've no worries. I mean, we're gonna lose some bodies this summer. Albeit, valuable ones at that. If we're to lose Hronek, then priorities would be a RHD for Huggy, and a scoring winger for Petey. Money out, money in. But we gotta factor in Petey's 4mil raise and OEL's buyout crap too. ........Big sigh................Aroo..............such as it is I suppose............
  8. Isn't Campbell their 3rd?!?!!???? Cole's just had unlucky bounces. Still a positive for us though. As suggested earlier, Juulsen perhaps can ring in. If anything just to give our veteran Dman Cole a rest. And to show the Oilers a different look like last night with Karlsson and Aman in. Mika hasn't had luck on his side either. If the dude buries just 10% of his chances, then we win games. Now Petey is another thing altogether. Dude's helping us no doubt. But as we all know, his offence has gotta get going. All in all though............... I figured that when Demmer went down that Silovs should get a chance to start games. Nothing against DeSmitty, but his injury back in the Preds series was certainly the opportunity the kid needed. Well he obviously hasn't looked back. I'm okay with Silovs being the guy till Demmer gets back. I'm sure Smitty doesn't mind being backup either. After all. That's why we got him, right? We contain that pairing, we win the series. It's that simple. Yep. A win is a win. Sure we got outshot by a good margin, but it's obvious something we did worked and it also helps that we've stellar goaltending ta' boot! Two more wins and another dragon slayed. Woohoo!!!!!!!
  9. Is that for sure that Hogz is out and Karlsson is in?!?!?!??!? Hmmmm. Interesting. Also I see PDG's out and Aman's in. Interesting moves. A different look for our playoff lineup which could prove advantageous. Unfamiliarity to the Oilers could make for a stand out performance of certain players for us. Cool. I await anxiously for the contest to begin. Let's go!
  10. Yay! 3 more wins and on to the next round. You can do it! Go Canuck Go!!!!!
  11. A refresh. A reset...............Finally! So excited! On to the battle! Let's go, boys! Go Canucks Go!!!!!
  12. Some quick edit images and clips of Canuck goals, hits and saves would go well with that music. Do it somebody!
  13. I get it. Everybody loves a winner and in the USA, they love and cherish their winners. That's just the truth. However I would say, that's just not right. I get that Canadians love hockey over all else, but Jeez Murphy! How is that fair to Canadian market teams when there's favouritism behind the scenes for American NHL teams. So unfair. Bettman sucks. We need a Canadian to take his place! As a true Vancouver Canuck fanboy, I also lose interest in viewing other teams battling it out. But I do like to catch an elimination game or two.
