  1. No it is too early to make this type of move. Sign Silvos to a 2 year bridge and get him into a good number of games next season as the backup. If Silvos looks to be starter level then Canucks can send out Demko before his contract is up and grab a couple assets back.
  2. Okay definitely after seeing this I feel like something is very wrong. He seems so exhausted and low energy. It feels the same when he plays, he gets knocked down a lot and while he has always fallen down more then others it is different lately. Either it wasn't just a "head cold" and could be a more serious illness (Matthews had a terrible virus during their run and he looked like death) or without speculating too far into it, might be mental health related. I feel bad for the guy definitely seems to be going through it. Hopefully he can get the help he needs to start feeling like himself again (physical and/or mental).
  3. I have felt this since the first couple games of the playoffs, I think Petey needs the offseason to get his head (and potentially injuries) corrected. It would be wonderful to have him suddenly appear again as his usual self, but I think he's struggling and working through things and that takes time and effort to correct. Of course it is unfortunate timing for this to happen, but these are just young adults at the end of the day and they will have big ups and downs. Look at Boeser from last season to now as an example of what work away from the rink can do for a person. Or Miller when he was Petey's age to now. What a journey that guy has gone on to become the player (and person) he is today. The fanbase needs to chill on Petey and let the other stars of the team lead the way for this run. I know, we all know, it sucks he isn't going right now, but constantly bashing him and calling for trades (not referring to just this forum) is not doing any good at all and is likely adding to the issue.
  4. Joshua has done nothing unfortunately. Really thought he'd thrive in the playoff environment. Miller got pretty quiet and wasn't doing a whole lot by the end of the game. Hoglander had a great first half and he also went quiet. Petey had his best game out of the last few, but still has way more to give. Defense was really solid and good job to Silvos. Our stars need to start scoring.
  5. I wanna see this line also. Hopefully next year they at least get a few games together to see if anything is there.
  6. That is a wild proposal. Could easily go down as the worst trade in franchise history if Petey remotely plays like he did in the first 400 games of his career and this stretch of 20 games isn't the signifier that he is completely washed up like you're saying.
  7. I'd say no. I would rather we lose Boeser and Mik and add in someone like Lekkermaki and a 1st to see if a deal can be made. I'm surprised how many people have given up on Petey after a bad stretch. Considering his overall time in Vancouver has been incredible.
  8. I'd also like him at around 6 million per, but I doubt he'd agree to term that low. He will be 30 next year so I bet he wants as long as possible. Maybe $6 x 6 years might be a consideration. If it was to be shorter term then I think the prices goes up. Maybe $7 or $7.5 million for 3-4 years? My expectation is he'll walk at UFA due to his price range and the bidding war for him that'll likely happen.
  9. Man Vegas is annoying, nice signing for them. Should be good news for Van though in regards to Hronek. They are fairly comparable (although I think most would say Hanifin is slightly better and more proven), so hopefully Hronek comes in around 7-7.5 over 8.
  10. Weird game overall and they should have beaten them. Great last 10 mins in the 3rd and some good PKs. Few more games to go then gotta be ready for playoffs.
  11. Hughes has been even more of a beast lately. Drives offense so hard, often even our forwards can't keep up.
  12. Who are you talking to? The vast majority of the comments this game have been calling out the Canucks and in general I haven't heard people claiming this team is about to go 3/4 rounds deep. Also great play by Zad, that's a weak call.
  13. Garland is playing great. Man it's awesome to see him find his game this season.
