Gurn
Round 8 Some great games The draw between Ian and Abasov, playing with black, was impressive. So far Nijat is actually doing quite well, scoring 3 losses and 5 draws given the strength of his opponents. Guy is 95 elo lower than the closest competitor, and 171 lower than the strongest player. Standings Ian and Gukesh tied at 5 points Hikaru and Pragg 4.5 Fabio 4 Vidit 3.5 Alireza 3 Abasov 2.5 Womens Tourney The Humpy versus Vaishali game was a good fight, with a time scramble error being the decisive move. Humpy got the win. Standings Aleksandra, Lei, and Tan tied with 5 points Kateryna 4.5 Nurgyul and Humpy 3.5 Anna 3 Vaishali 2.

Gurn
Controversy in the chess world- again. I missed this issue yesterday but: Alireza was asked by an arbitrator to not walk around, as another player had complained about the noise. This was during the game, and Ali took to twitter after the match to express his displeasure. Seems he feels he's been 'messed with' during a number of recent tourneys and was ticked off. Today Ali's Dad was kicked out of the tourney hall. Interviewed outside, his Dad has said Ali is considering dropping out of chess. Pressure, coming down on him No man has more. Gurn
Round 10 complete, rest day tomorrow Alireza lost. standings are Gukesh and Ian drew against each other and have 6 points Pragg, Fabiano, and Hikaru 5.5 Vidit 5 Alireza 3.5 Abasov -had winning position late into his game, but eventually lost 3 points Women Lei and Tan 6.5 Aleksandra and Katerryna 5.5 Humpy 4.5 Nurgyul and Anna 4 Vaishali 3.5 4 games left, to make up the points - but some of these players are already out of contention, due to the people above them player each other, so someone, or both will get points/half points. I'd say if they don't have 4.5 or more, their done.
