If our Hughes got hurt and/or traded and Soucy was not our 1LD that would make him a #1 defenseman by your logic. We will agree to disagree on this one. Will always be on losing teams because he’s going to eat too much cap and have justify that salary and play too many important minutes and be terrible defensively. CF%: 27th in the entire NHL for defencemen (and that's including RHD and LHD) FF%: 60th (again RHD and LHD) By definition if there is 1LD and 1RD for each team, the top 64 defencemen in the NHL are a good metric. Luke is in that top ranking for both analytics above. We can agree to disagree, but the stats don't lie. Edit: you probably want to filter your above stat for oZS% to 5v5 only.
