Rush
https://www.victoriabuzz.com/2023/09/nanaimo-based-fast-ferry-service-offering-late-night-sailings-for-concerts-and-canucks-games/ “We’ve had so much demand for late-night sailings, as people from Vancouver Island are looking for an easier and more affordable way to enjoy evening concerts and games in Vancouver,” said Alastair Caddick, Hullo’s Chief Executive Officer. “After attending events on the mainland, people can now safely travel back home and enjoy the comfort of their own bed.” The typical daily schedule from Nanaimo to Vancouver has sailings from: 7 a.m., 11 a.m., 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. From Vancouver to Nanaimo the usual schedule is: 9 a.m., 1 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. And going forward, there will be added sailings from Vancouver to Nanaimo at 10:30 p.m. for Canucks games and 11:30 p.m. for concerts. When those events are happening, the late night sailings will replace the 9:30 p.m. sailing. 2 1
Rush
Quite excited about that option. A bit of a drive down from Nanaimo to Victoria but the cost savings of no hotel is worth the trade off. Would be a late arrival but it's a great option.
MeanSeanBean
I hadn't heard about this. Normally only get to see one game a year, but this might open us up for a couple more not having to stay in Van.
Ghostsof1915
I find it kinda funny that if a private firm offers fast ferries, no one bats an eye. But try to build fast ferries locally for BC Ferries, everyone gets their knickers in a knot.

The last “fast” ferries ended up costing a tonne and were slower than the current ones on mildly choppy days iirc.
Kragar
Sounds like a good idea. I guess some that like the 9:30 sailing might be bummed out, but the change doesn't add a crapton of added operating costs. And, if it drives up usage, so much the better.
