Hi. Sorry for the late reply. I’ve been in transit all day.
Totally see where you are coming from. Love Hog, especially in the “big” games (like the Toronto match). I had heard that his style of play at this stage (being so intense) may make him very offensively effective with reduced minutes, which may not significantly improve with more 5 on 5 time (even though he is, I believe near the top of the league in that stat). However, he may have evolved beyond that idea in the later parts of the year (I’ve been out of the country and have been unable to watch games.
In addition,I wouldn’t consider putting Pods with Lindholm as a promotion, but more of a useful component in a heavily defensive line that wouldn’t be relied upon for offence (although that would be nice). So the lines I suggested wouldn’t be considered in the traditional way, but more as three lines geared for offence with a defensive component, and one line with a strong defensive component.
The line times would be spread out based on tactical requirements and the in game effectiveness of the individual lines.
So these lines are really just based on personal combinations that have seemed to work in the relatively few games I have been able to watch this year. I watched Hog and Suter tear it up earlier in the season, as well as the Joshua Bluegar Garland line. Haven’t seen Pods play much this year, but remembered him to be strong defensively. Since Mik and Lindholm seem to be having strong defensive but challenging offensive preformences so far these lines hopefully would allow everyone to play to their strengths
But, I must admit, I do REALLY like the hog, and want to see him on the ice as much as possible
Cheers
