  1. As I understand it yes, no roster moves can take place during a round. Once a round has concluded you may add from your black aces pool of players for the next round. I of course see nothing in the CBA but this is how we roll or have since inception in 2009 unless I am confused.
  2. I personally believe $ 6.5m per is that number that is fair but both sides concede a little to ensure flexibility for the team moving forward.
  3. I keep saying this, it's exactly right and Casey said as much when he earned the game puck last game. 100% full confidence in this team.
  4. I don't pay for SN either. You can use NHLKING, Streameast, or NHLBite I believe all three stream games for free, can choose multiple feeds. Frequently bales me out of a bind if im on my cell on or desktop.
  5. The team defended and protected the net extremely last game. Allowing one goal in the final minutes of pressure by the Predators. This team will get it done, no doubt about that. Playoffs, they aren't easy games, any of them. All good.
  6. If Vancouver is dealt that card, bringing in their third goaltender on the depth chart. Its truly a testament to this management group. Arturs is the Canucks future in goal whom the organization has heavily invested in. He has already shown well in NHL contests and this if comes to fruition is a major exciting opportunity. But people need to also realize the goaltender is one of 19 players in the game battling for your Canucks. Vancouver as a team, they got this.
  7. He helped manufacture both goals last game and was credited with one assist. Played a more focused game, noticeably improved his puck possession and distribution and attempted higher percentage shots. He also reverse hit a few guys and bounced right up after hits or bambi stumbles. He is on track, no surprise to see him snipe one or put up points today.
  8. Have to say how surprised yet not surprised here how many people feel the Canucks should trade Hronek. Citing a fall in production or a possible ask of a perceived high caphit. Firstly Hughes and Hronek do compliment eachother well. Not on a Marc Methot or Luke Schenn / Ethan Bear level of top pair partner to a top defenseman. Filip Hronek can produce. *Only 13 Canucks defensemen have ever scored more points then him in a season. * Only 4 Canucks defensemen have ever produced more assists in a season then he did this year. Filip Hronek has at a point in the last half of the season injured or aggravated something upper body. He still throws the body, plays with an edge and can play physical. He perhaps coincidentally or not has not been positioned or able to let his shot rip as much. Hronek is one of the first guys to go to bat for his team if he's on the ice. Watch when opposing players take liberties on his teammates. DeSmith last game for example, he doesn't back down. We all know he is a good skater, can shoot the puck, distributes it well and can play special teams. Not the biggest defenseman but plays with an edge, is physical and defends well. It would be a great value deal if Hronek signed for a longer term deal at under $ 7 million per, but as much as I'd love that as a fan so we can squeeze more returnees in from the Canucks pending UFA group its simply not realistic. He compares statistically well in terms of age, production, points per game, toi, to name a few categories to defensemen like: - Noah Hanifin - Thomas Chabot - Vince Dunn These are your 7m to 8m range guys. I think if Vancouver offered $6.5m per and a deal is not done, Hronek may want $ 7.35m Hanifin numbers. Vancouver could argue Hronek is a notch down in terms of overall value than a Hanifin. Maybe a deal gets done at $ 7m per ? League wide Hronek was 21st in points, 29th in points per game among all defensemen. The argument for $6.5m per would put him in the mid to late thirties overall in caphit. The cap is climbing, a 6 to 8 year deal at 7 to 8m per is where current 5m per deals look like now. Lastly, Filip Hronek is the top four right handed defenseman this franchise has never had. The exact very literally the player this fan base has been screaming for, for years. Of course he is no Quinn Hughes and obviously Hughes will make Hronek better, he will make any player better ( hello Schenn, Bear lol ). Don't take Hronek for granted or try to trade him because he only nearly produced but didn't hit 50+ points or wants to be compensated for his services.
  9. He plays tough enough. He initiates hits and takes them bouncing right back up too. For whatever reason he does bambi on ice frequently sure. But I wouldn't say he's not tough. Last game you could see him much more focused, smarter puck distribution and carrying the pick more. Had one assist and carried the puck on the second goal. It would do a world of wonders if he sniped one ( at least ) and I have a feeling its coming here.
  10. People with money go to the games, the young families, kids and working class go to the watch party at Rogers for a fraction of the cost. Kind of tongue n cheek but yeah.
  11. I'd love to see Lindholm return but I think that ship sailed with his role here. Sure a 3rd line center of his calibre is sick but he almost certainly would rather sign to be a top six elsewhere.
  12. A few good rushes, couple shot attempts, was active on the powerplay and was in on both goals but only the one assist. Solid shot block and some reverse hitting. He elevated and tweaked his game noticeably from the first two games. I think there is a segment of fans or users here who happily complain or rip the guy but don't follow that up with acknowledgement of good aspects of his game. The hate is honestly lame and counterproductive.
  13. Joshua and Zadorov will need to want to be here more than their agent can bargain for them in free agency. A player like Joshua maxes out arounf 3m per in Vancouver, if your trying to be smart otherwise you are adding to the cap problems that this team accumulated during Benning's era. Zadorov has shown a lot but again we just spent half a decade whining about Myers at 6m being a 4/5. Thats where Zadorov fits. His agent may be able to get him $5m plus on the market but that is likely sitting at a higher number Vancouver can or should work with. Myers may come back in the $4m range per if lucky but thats a big if. Vancouver may look at guys like Cole and Blueger coming back in $ 2m - 2.5m range per. Either way, Vancouver can realistically bring back several pending UFAs but it will take selling them on the success they are having as a collective.
  14. If the Canucks secure Hronek for under $7m per I would be shocked. My opinions aside on his worth, seems the market for him. Zadorov is not a top pair dman, he can be a reliable 4/5. If he improved his consistency he could push up higher on the depth chart. If he wants $ 6m range per he wont be back in Vancouver.
  15. DeSmith will get the opportunity. Silovs is the teams future in net. He is being molded into a 1a/1b and if he fills his potential will be challenging Demko for starts by the time Demko is a pending UFA. Demko's potential injury concerns may expedite or allow more opportunity for Silovs sooner but the club has him pegged as their future in goal regardless.
  16. The Canucks breakout season on top of where the team is at right now has slammed open " the window " for the team to be Playoff to contending team for years to come. Demko is supposed to be a part of this scenario however Silovs is his heir apparent and the team is pretty set in goal for the long term no matter how Demko's injury or seemingly continued injuries play into this.
  17. This is just it. Still a little surprised at how bleak and negative so many posts are here about the Canucks all of a sudden. It would do fans a better service to enjoy the ride and put less time and effort into complaining and over analyzing the Canucks goaltending at current, the inability of the power play and the constant ripping of Pettersson who is an easy target for various reasons from his salary, his body language, giveaways, his lack of production through the first two games of the series. Getting on the road will help the team focus, play a hard road game and hoping this translates into higher percentage plays with the puck and a simplified game, would not at all surprise me to see Petey score on the Powerplay in game 3 while Vancouver wins and takes a 2-1 series lead. But from a lot of the vibe here its almost depressing and a defeatest attitude. The Canucks are a top team, really you got to enjoy the ride instead of pretending to be hockey analysts or knowing more than the coaches and so on. The team is very likely on pace to win at least a couple rounds in the playoffs after a breakout season.
  18. Or passing up shot opportunities from Hronek but continuing to keep passing to the far side goal line for high percentage onetimers ffs. Love Hughes, he gets the puck through but there are better shooters who are not getting in position or taking the shots. WAY too much thinking. I assume being on the road is going to help them simplify things and cut the pretty crap.
  19. Reluctance to shoot only to pass for one timers from impossible angles was a big fail tonight. Assuming Hronek can't shoot due to an injury since everytime he gets it he resets and passes. The Canucks have good shooters who can get the puck through but they aren't trying.
  20. Trading Tkachuk makes no sense. They will need to move off of one of their defensemen to better balance their team, not Tkachuk lol.
  21. What in the hell is with all these Negative Nancy posts ? Canucks are an awesome team, they play very good defensively and have a lot of dangerous weapons that can produce offense. Why is a large majority here sounding like the Canucks just lost the series, laughable responses to be honest. Vancouver is up 1-0 over Nashville, unfortunate and disappointing that Demko is out but the team will be just fine with DeSmith in net and Silovs backing up, hell even vic versa. Have faith and watch the Canucks take a 2-0 series lead tonight. The goaltender is one of 19 skaters on the ice in a game, Canucks got this, loving Playoff hockey!!!!!
