With the recent trade for Zadorov, I believe we are still missing a top 6 winger. So here is my attempt at a proposal to get one:

To VAN: T. Konecny

To PHI: C. Garland + V. Podkolzin + 2026 2nd Rd Pick + 2024 4th Rd Pick

We still have around 1.5M cap after to sign Bear if Allvin wants depth for inevitable injuries at D.

When healthy:

Kuzmenko - Petey - Konecny

Mikheyev - Miller - Boeser

Hoglander - Suter - Lafferty

Joshua - Blueger - PDG

Hughes - Hronek

Cole - Zadorov

Soucy - Myers
Friedman - Bear

Revised draft picks

What would you change about it? I feel like Tocchet would love a gritty but talented player like Konecny, albeit on the smaller side. Maybe the type of player Hoglander can evolve into?

I'd leave the 1st out of it.

I'm not opposed to moving it for someone, but that ls more than what we paid for Hronek eg.

Let Podz grow. He should have been in the AHL from the start.
‘He was getting it going playing also situations before the judo throw on the ice.
‘He is a big speedy winger who can play on both special teams.
‘He needs to keep playing big minutes in the AHL. He has everything he needs but game minutes because the KHL screwed him early and we rushed him into NHL despite that.
‘Plus, Milstein.😉

Prefer us go after a winger with size like Lawson Crouse in Arizona

I was thinking Crouse as well, but what would it cost to get him?

With Arizona's start and Crouse's playing so well, I think they prefer to stay in the mix rather than selling. Philadelphia on the hand are open for business.

Travis Konecny is Philadelphia's second best player, behind Carter Hart.  Why are they trading him away again?  They're not trying to tank this year.

If you want someone for cheaper get Joel Farabee.  He just got benched the whole game last night.

This is not a good proposal.

We need a player like Podkolzin.

That's way too much to pay for an undersized tyrant, who isn't much better than Garland. Plus?

No deal.

Both Gar and Pod (when healthy and in good books), should get 20+ goals. Its okay to trade forwards, but you best get something back to makeup for the 40+ goals. Very important to get as much scoring as possible in a best of 8 make the playoffs bracket. Throw in Torts.... Then we be takin. 😜

Any trade we make moving forward should IMO be for a big, strapping winger with some quickness and who hits some.  Going to need physical horses like that to bull his way through the big defenses of playoff teams like Vegas, Tampa, etc.

AS much as I do agree with him not being big.

He plays a hard / skill game and is one of the leagues top tier forecheckers that's also a bonafide top 6 forward.

He would be an amazing addition to JT Millers wing.

I also don't see us making this trade though

For sure, just balked at the original price.

Konecny is a perfect fit for the top 6.  Tocchett loves the guy for good reason.  Definitely someone I think either EP / Miller would benefit from and a player Id re-sign.

Podz is the big dice roll.  I wonder what mgmt/player develop think his trajectory is.

I think a best case scenario for Podkolzin is Ivan Barbashev type of player
