Sophomore Jinx
The Columbus Blue Jackets have acquired forward Alex Nylander and a conditional sixth-round pick from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for forward Emil Bemstrom, the clubs announced Thursday. This is the first move the Blue Jackets have made under interim general manager John Davidson. Nylander, the younger brother of the Toronto Maple Leafs star, has played in 98 NHL games, registering 14 goals and 34 points in that time. He’s previously played for the Penguins, Chicago Blackhawks and Buffalo Sabres. He’s spent this season in the AHL with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and in 43 appearances, leads the team with 17 goals and 32 points. Bemstrom, 24, has played in 32 games for the Blue Jackets this season, notching five goals and six assists. King Heffy
Dubas was worried that Alex would bend him over for 8 million a season.
Goalie29
They traded with Dubas to get Nylander. Maybe they thought Dubas was still in Toronto and they were getting the older Nylander for a steal! 1 1
Biff Tannen
The last time I heard news this big was when Fedorov was traded to the Rangers for Balej.
Captain insano
Penguins gunna have some big turnover this summer, I can just feel a couple monster deals to try keeping that team relevant
cripplereh
Reminds me of Benning trying to keep us a float, that turnt out great. I mean rebuild guys lol. Trade the big guys for whatever you get and rebuild instead of trying to just make the playoffs or not at all.
Canucklehead44
Weird trade - Bemstrom is younger, more upside and can actually stick in the NHL
Miss Korea
This is exactly what Pittsburgh needs to turn things around - another guy who can't score
