Was expecting this kid to be centre of conversation after the young guns, looking deeper at just standard stats he looks to be a fair amount ahead of anyone on his team, very low scoring team middle of the standings, does anybody watch this kid? I feel like his stats are being burried in the system judging off the rest of his teams stats and the teams overall record not being bad… or maybe I’m just hopeful! Any insight is appreciated thanks!

Mueller, 21, was selected by the Canucks in the fourth round (105th overall) of the 2023 NHL Draft.

The Cochrane, Alta., native has spent the last three seasons playing in the NCAA at the University of Nebraska-Omaha.

Over 40 games in 2023-24, Mueller recorded 11 goals and 15 assists for a total of 26 points. Across 98 career games with Omaha, he has 64 points.

“Ty has continued to develop and take important steps forward since we drafted him," said general manager Patrik Allvin in the team's news release. “He is a smart two-way hockey player who we look forward to working with as he makes the transition from college hockey to the pro game.”

Wanted to bump this thread as this kid really surprised me with very collected playing but showed glimpses of skill mixed in. I feel like he could be a very nice complimentary bottom 6 guy in a couple years. Maybe a Hansen type guy.

cant wait to see how he progresses in Abby

Review from Canucks Army today:

As the final rookie to do so, Ty Mueller made his AHL debut this weekend and was quickly given steady ice time. He debuted as the third-line center on Friday and was utilized on both special teams. He played well enough to be promoted to the second line for Sunday’s game. While Mueller didn’t have any offensive contributions, he didn’t make any significant mistakes either—a good sign for a first-time AHL center.

Mueller averaged 14:08 of ice time over the two games and won 13 of his 20 face-offs, an area where this team desperately needs help in the depth charts.
