The Philadelphia Flyers hold a press conference to address recent sudden changes in management.

Newly appointed General Manager Snapshot85 states the following.

" The firing of the past GM has nothing to do with any interactions or altercations with any of our players, coaches, support staff or their families.

It was a league Decision.

There will be no further questions on the matter.

On a personal note... I am excited to be managing in this league and with such a amazing team. "

any chance anyone here is interested in taking over a GFL team? it is a really cool league, one year old now.
There is a few rule differences: in that league the bottom five teams at the end of the regular season occupy draft picks 6 thru 10 rather than the top five. It is a pretty awesome anti tanking move. Just so no one is caught off guard if you choose to join it. I am going to cross reference there to see if anyone wants to pick up a team here.

It should be noted that we did not fire MissKorea, he regrettably got banned from the site.

Is there a final draft order somewhere yet?

We have the 5th overall pick and would be open to moving back a few spots. Would probably happen on draft day but we'd like to map out some options in advance.

Good afternoon to the press, just a quick statement regarding the trade. It was not our intention to move either one of these great players, however, when the opportunity to make our club just a bit better presented itself, we had to seize the chance. Honestly this one could go either way as there are some really good players on both sides of this trade. I feel we gave up a bit more on D to get a bit stronger and younger on the forward lines. I appreciate JIAHN for reaching out and the negotiations that took place, ultimately leading to this deal. A good hockey trade for both clubs.

As for our young prospects, this is a great day for these guys, each and every one of them has worked diligently, and made a life altering commitment to the game of hockey at a young age. It is a very profound and mature decision to set out to reach the pinnacle of your sport, and to achieve that dream is simply amazing, and we are happy to be a part of this special day for all ten of these players. A GML ELC is the first step for each of these guys, on the long journey of a pro career. This summer we will have our prospect camp, rookie camp, young guns tournament and ultimately our preseason training camp. Every stage along the way will be a battle, friendly battle, for pride of place and cementing their spot in the legacy of the Seattle Kraken. More than one of these rookies may well end up suiting up for us on opening night of the 24-25 season. Looking forward to watching it unfold.

Our expansion rules would differ slightly from the NHL's previous rules to help teams prepare, as they'd only have a month to prepare rather than a full season.  Teams would have the option to protect either:

8 forwards, 3 defence, 1 goalie

7 forwards, 4 defence, 1 goalie

10 skaters (any position), 1 goalie

As for exempt players, the exemption status would bump up from 2 seasons to 3.  So players with 3 or fewer professional seasons would be exempt, as well as unsigned draft picks.

Minimum exposure requirements would remain the same, as well as players with NMC's being automatically protected.

Anaheim would select only 20 players of their choosing, meaning 10 teams would not lose anyone in the process.  This keeps flexibility for both our current teams and the expansion team, and increases likely trades being made to protect a player, or in some cases, convince Anaheim to not choose a player from a teams roster.

The Ducks would be involved in our draft lottery process, but unless they won the draft lottery their picks would be slotted 15th, after all the current non-playoff teams.

***EDIT: I should note, as far as minimum exposure requirements go, pending UFAs WILL count towards the exposure limit provided they have played at least 41 games in the 2023-24 season, or 25 games for goaltenders.  RFAs who have been qualified will also count, as they did before.***

@Squeak these were the proposed expansion rules, but as I've been adding Expansion pages and working on sheets, it seems to be overkill.  In some cases teams would be protecting pending UFAs just to fill a list.

I am currently looking at the difference if we just revert closer to NHL rules, which would be:

Teams would have the option to protect either:

7 forwards, 3 defence, 1 goalie

8 skaters (any position), 1 goalie

Players with 2 or fewer professional seasons would be exempt, as well as unsigned draft picks.

Anaheim would select 30 players of their choosing, one from every team.

Trying to find the happy medium where both GMs and the expansion team get a fair shake.
