Also, perhaps a glimpse of why Detroit let Hronek go? Good is definitely outweighing the bad, but maybe not by as much as we thought.

Roster is better but still lacking key pieces. 
 

Team composition still needs to improve. 
 

Among other things. 
 

Gonna be an interesting offseason. Hopefully they get some playoff experience.
 

Petey(especially) and Kuz need to turn their situations around before things really start to plummet. 
 

This roster isn’t gonna win as many games defensively as they will offensively. 
 

Give Demko a bit of a rest and reset next game.

This team couldn't even defend for 2 minutes after coming all the way back to tie the game. All they had to do was keeping the puck out of their zone, icing or whatever.

Hronek isn't the issue. The team's defense was exposed though. I don't know what the players are doing by overloading one side, exposing the other side.

They were already thinking about OT and then Myers almost giftwrapped another goal to Jack Hughes. That's when the Devils saw the crack and started skating circles around them, eventually for the winning goal.

 

It's more like they stopped skating and started watching the puck instead, hoping Demko will bail them out at the last second as he did numerous times before.

 

He didn't and they got nothing to show for the great comeback.

Demko didn't really have a great game, outside of a few saves when he needed to. The team shouldn't have let Demko out to dry like they did on the fatal Devils' goal.

The problem is lafferty and miky in the top 6. The problem is also that they’ve been the best of our top 6 lately.

Miller said it right. We sucked and there's no excuse for it. Tocchet  said we blew it allowing four goals in the first. 

We have to find different approaches for different teams.

Tough loss after the come back in the third period - but the game was probably lost in the first, and the last minute of the second.

 

Need to clean up these "last minute of the period goals" which can have a dramatic impact on games, extending leads and losing precious points. The coverage on the winning goal was poor.  Demko also needs to play a bit better - hopefully he is not getting tired as he has played quite a few games recently, without the back to backs.

 

This was certainly a winnable game but the damage to an eastern opponent is not as costly - hopefully the team plays a complete game against the Wild starting in the first period.  They really need to get a better start (how many times have we said that) - must be something in the preparation - most of the losses this year have happened with early / multi goal deficits in the first / third periods.

 

On a brighter note, congrats to Christine Sinclair on a wonderful international career and it was great to see 48000+ witness the event.
