Does it make sense for a Top 5 team in the NHL to make so many trades before the playoffs (taking into account all of the previous trades that we've made this season).  

 

What type of impact would this have in the locker room?  Team Chemistry.  

 

Move Petey if you must be save that shit for the off-season.  

 

Also, how many 1st rounders in life are we expected to give up?

This is a terrible deal for Van. 

 

We're trading a top 10 center for Laff, a bottom pair RD and a 1st that we then flip for Lars Eller. 

 

I just don't think it does much for Vancouver short term or long.

In this proposal, we get a first from the Rangers and then flip it to the Pens.

Schneider really hasn't lived up to his hype, he's still their 6th defenceman. Laf is useless and Rempe is a random 4th liner who everyone will forget about in 10 games time. Plus NYR have absolutely no need for another strong center when they already have so many. Bad proposal all around.

 

If we want to make things interesting how about this...
 

TO NYR: Pettersson
TO VAN: K'Andre Miller + Trocheck + 1st

 

Trocheck is 30, but scoring at a PPG. Very solid 2C on a contending team. Miller is a 20 minute strong two-way young defenceman. 

 

Then follow that up with this:

 

TO PIT: Mikheyev + 1st

TO VAN: Rust

 

Rust has 18 goals in 42 games, just about a 30+ goal scoring pace. He quietly, consistently bags goals for Pittsburgh. Sure he's 31 but this is a "win-now" lineup if I ever saw one:

Hoglander - Trocheck - Rust

Garland - Lindholm - Joshua

Lafferty - Blueger - PDG

Aman

Bains

 

Hughes - Hronek

Miller - Cole

Zadorov - Myers

That lineup has it all. Depth at center (Miller 100pt, Trocheck 80pt, Lindholm and Blueger 40-50pt), solid wingers and great defensive depth too.

Yeah, I would do the Petey for Trocheck, K'Andre and 1st trade, and could see the Rangers do that too to really stack their center group with Mika and Petey.
