Popular Post Steamer4GM
I halfheartedly threw out the idea the other day of this forum benefiting from TWO GDTs and PGTs for each game just to eliminate the back n' forth bickering from members of either side of our far too often polarized community (myself included lol) Recognizing, of course, that it would never fly and that many on both sides actually enjoy the debates, I never took the idea too seriously That said, I submit the following thread to be used or ignored, as you all see fit, for the remainder of this glorious post-season we're all getting to enjoy ************************************************************************************** Between games, pre-game, during game or post-game, consider this the official, resident, hard core cheering thread Bask in the excitement of all this team has accomplished so far this year, all that we're experiencing now and all the optimism and excitement for the future Wet blanket brigade members, naysayers, armchair coaches and GMs who think they know better than the current brain trust be damned and stay the hell out If ya pop in to troll and post negative nonsense, obviously there's nothing I or anyone else can do but just know that you're essentially stating to yourself, your fellow fans and the entire world that you're such a low to the ground scumbag POS that you can't even stand by and watch people enjoy pure unbridled positivity without trying to crap on it for no good reason other than you're own selfish pleasure and to try to drag other's happiness down because you hate yourself and life so much that you just can't help yourself Maybe an Alternate Doom n Gloom Vibes Only thread to provide balance? Feel free ************************************************************************************** With that... Let's see some peace love n rainbow memes and chat up the torturous hours ahead as we wait for game one of round two DROP THE PUCK!!! Go Canucks GO!!!! Popular Post Steamer4GM
How lucky are we to have, as I put it in another thread, such an embarrassment of riches between the pipes eh? I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that, despite optimism, faith in DeSmith and longstanding feeling that this season is somehow special and different, I got a bit nervous when Demmer went down. True to form, the man stood tall and played great and a big sigh of relief was released. Then DeSmith turns up lame and Silovs steps in and, again, even though I knew of his stellar play for Latvia and decent play for us this season, I was like... Why can't we have good things?!?! I just wanted to see my boy Snatcher play a full four rounds of Vezina magic goaltending while the rest of the team stayed healthy To see Arty essentially stun the league with next level play in the last 3 games and, especially, turn in the performance he did last night... Man, I'm literally still grinning ear to ear when I think of how fortunate we are and how much fun he and the rest of the guys must be having looking at each other and knowing what they've accomplished and what they're capable of I can't imagine anyone is as excited as I am or more for the next round but I kind of have a feeling the players themselves probably are haha
Joe King
I think we are in for a good stretch here. A good management team that seems to know what direction they want to go. A very good coaching team with some dedicated former players that were Canucks through and through. Farm team right in the big teams back yard. I can just imagine what is going through the Abby players minds as they see first hand and up close how crazy supportive local fans are. Filling a stadium to watch their team on a big screen, that's just awesome. 1
Popular Post PhillipBlunt
I have a feeling the next series is going to be bad……………..for the Soiled Coiled Oilers. Skinner is going to have his acute PTCD (post traumatic Canucks disorder) kick in shortly after puck drop. 2

Breadnbutta
I've been called stupid, a Homer, delusional. I honestly think we are gonna walk the Oilers. We have shown so much perseverance, our team is much more well coached. Our 3rd stringer is better than skinner. I mean the only thing they have is there power play, but our penalty kill has been awesome and I think we will crush them at 5 on 5. Goal_thecup
Steamer4GM4Mod! Thank you. Finally a thread for real Canucks fans. Those barred from this thread are like chewed gum stuck to the bottom of your shoe. Bonus Game: Name Your Least Favorite TROLL; I'll start: AV. Not only are we Winning In The Playoffs, the Center of the Universe has been swallowed whole, swirling down into the Black Hole of Broken Expectations Raised by Its Own Media, like So Many Little Turds Rushing Down the Toilet! Look at Little Ronnie Go! Which reminds me, The Coil is Up Next. Should be fun watching them trying to Win In The Playoffs with Piss Poor Goaltending. Popular Post IBatch
Good post OP. Canucks have shown their resolve and resilience, and faced some adversity on the way. We are still standing, and there is no logical reason why we can't win the next game up each time, this season. Silovs is the real deal. Some players have the "IT" factor. Seen it once before in Patrick Roy, and know all about Dryden's heroics too. Demko going down, likely cost us the Presidents trophy. Funny how things have worked out. Silovs is like putting on an old coat, and finding a crisp 100$ bill tucked away and forgotten about. Every team still in it, knows it's a game of inches and that luck is both made and decides series and games all the time. Why not us? Trying to say that since our torrid start. Hoped we'd trade our first since then. Been on the cup bandwagon since Nov. Our cap window is as wide as it's going to get this year and the following one for awhile. Glad they saved some for next year too. Hardly went "all-in". But for sure fixed things along the way to give the team a real shot. EPs going to enjoy playing the Coilers. They don't have the same personal as NSH did. QHs will gain some space too. That's going to be their downfall. Team learned playing NSH, how to play that edge between a playoff play and a penalty well. Noticed right away Tochett shifted tactics once the back-ups came in. That "tune up" round showed the team to just keep at it and over a 7 game series, the system works. Funny, not nearly as scared to play EDM as others on different threads seem to be. They should be scared to play US. Zadarov will knock their blocks off, so will Myers, Soucy, Juulsen, Cole ... enjoy this McJesus/Drydick exactly what Tochett preached before game one: Pain. If Game 4, wasn't a learning lesson never to give up on this team, i'm not sure what can be done for those who seem to want to complain about what we don't have or tactics. 107 points, and no Demko for 16 or so games. Hmmm. On pace to challenge Broduer, Luongo, Holtby's epic seasons. There are plenty of other "top" teams that had their own struggles too. Optimism is a choice. If you can't be "optimistic" about a team who had a half dozen players sent to the all-star game in a 32 team league ... not sure what else you're waiting for. Yes more muscles are used to smile then frown. Work out that smile! What a ride so far. EDM, it will be a pleasure to finally play you again. And no, you're not a dynasty this time around. Goal_thecup
From JR and PA through the AGMs, coaches, staff et cetera, this management team knows what to do, learns fast, and makes constant improvements. I have faith that they will solve McDavid & Draisaitl and lead the team to decisive victory. Oilers were built by picking up low character players unwanted by most good teams, e.g. Kane, Perry, etc, to fill out a roster after spending bank on McD&D, Nurse, etc. They have not been able to put a playoff-caliber goalie tandem, in fact none of their goalies have performed as well as any of ours. They cannot physically dominate us now that Big Z & Company are back there towering over them. I am really looking forward to watching Connie get frustrated to the point of taking bad penalties and costing, instead of leading, his team. Management has had so much success even they are surprised with how well the team has come together and become so competitive. I imagine they thought they needed one more year, but here we are, contending and, lest we forget, winning in the playoffs.
kilgore
Love it! (I'll grumble in another thread) Such a great feeling as a long time fan to be back in the playoffs this year. I'll take all the nail biting and stress, its a privilege to be able to be a part of it. Its for moments like this that make you excited to be a hockey fan. In between rounds where you just defeated another team and getting ready for the next....where anything could happen. But I too have high hopes. Sure the Oiler apologists want to dismiss the season sweep with excuses, but the fact remains we took them to church all four times. There must be something in Tocchets system that helps neutralize Edmonton's. Also Petey has done well against the Oilers. So I expect him to have a resurgence this round. Silovs is a rock. Miller will be a hound against McDavid's line. Plus we are the ones who will be playing with way less pressure. Oilers are the most proliferate divers in the league though just to set up their PP, so we have to watch our disiplline. But I'm optimistic we can beat these cowpokes from Alberta 1
NucksFan
McDavid will cry ,whine and complain to the Refs all series ( as usual) but in the end the Canucks will remain composed ,work hard, stick to their systems and win the series as the predicted underdogs… being labelled that will motivate them even more.

swimmer
I have been watching the Canucks since the beginning. This year's team has given me more excitement, enjoyment and just plain fun than any that I can remember. I can't wait for the next game! I love Silov's attitude. He is having the time of his life out there. I hope it is infectious, and the rest of the team adopts it. Having fun may just loosen some tightly held sticks and allow all of them to play to their full potential. The pressure is all on the Oilers. They are trying very hard to totally disregard the regular season record against us. They do so at their peril. The Canucks are very hard to play against, and the additions of Zadorov and Lindholm, make them even more so. When we win the first game, we may be so far in the Oiler's heads that they will not fully recover until it is too late. It will be a rough tough series, but I am an unapologetic optimist. The Canucks win. GCG!!
