Hamas is just a toy that turkey and Iran use to poke the bear. They both fund and support hamas with weapons . By hiding out in Gaza amongst the population they knowingly accept death of innocent people.

Unlike you, I lived in Israel, I had business relationships with people on the Palestinian side. What you are saying is a result of Pallywood propaganda. Situation on the ground is quite different. It’s easy to throw big words like “apartheid”, etc. without actually knowing the actual facts. My family still lives there and will live there long after the enemies will feed the earth worms. Look at how Israel has grown as a state since it’s inception. Where do you think they got that land and who do you think was ousted to obtain it?

Christ almighty. I’m not a child so in my world it isn’t as simple as everything being black and white or good vs evil.

 

By no means do I think that Hamas are innocent or Palestine is “good”. Nor do I believe that the average Israeli is responsible for the actions of their government. But like it or not, Israel has to accept significant responsibility for their actions in the West Bank and elsewhere, which has allowed the situation to deteriorate to this point.

 

The mass murder of civilians is disgusting and unjustifiable. But it doesn’t change what Israel has done and it doesn’t erase the fact that they’ve oppressed the Palestinian people for too long.

Israel has lost any opportunity to claim the moral high ground. When you go from being the oppressed to using the tactics of your oppressors, its time to ask yourself some hard questions...

Here’s the thing. Do I agree with every decision of Israeli government? Hell no. Do I like Netanyahu? Hell no, I think he’s corrupt and should be in jail. I’m totally open to arguments about Israel from all perspectives. However, I end all conversations the moment someone who’s never been there says the words “Israel” and “apartheid” in one sentence. Those who do have no idea what they are talking about. Arab citizens of Israel have full rights, vote in democratic elections, consistently have representatives in the parliament and held ministerial positions. Druze Muslim population in Israel are proud patriots and among the leaders of top fighting units in IDF. These things don’t happen in actual apartheid. Israel is the only true democracy in the Middle East. Its Arab neighbours who chose peaceful coexistence (Egypt, Jordan) are perfect examples of what happens when Arabs lay down their weapons. There are plenty of Arabs living peacefully in the centres of Tel Aviv, Haifa and Jerusalem. Please show me a Jew who lives in the centre of Gaza City and I’ll show you a Jew who is dead within hours.

I'm a little stunned at how Hamas was able to pull off an attack of this magnitude with Israeli Intelligence apparently unaware.

 

Pressure will be on Bibi to do something big. I suppose the biggest thing he could do would be a ground invasion of Gaza.

He might be on his horse now, but I highly doubt he will survive after this war is over. Just look at the election results for Golda Meir after the Yom Kippur War of 1973. He will be blamed (and rightfully so) for the failures of the intelligence this time around.

@RomanPer what would happen to Israel if they “turned the other cheek” to these terrorist attacks? IMHAO they’d cease to exist if they didn’t fight back against HAMAS.  But you clearly know more about this situation than most here. Israel has to respond and it must be significant, no?

Agreed, he and his Intelligence agencies were asleep at the wheel and there is much blood in the streets so to speak. No doubt he's toppled, question is who replaces him?
