Popular Post -dlc-
Thought this might be a good place to discuss fines, suspensions, etc. If I missed something somewhere else, apologies. With Big Z getting 2 games, I wonder what Reilly will get. An in person hearing "has been offered" (?) and will be held tomorrow. What do you think should happen? I feel 5-10 games at least. I mean, I'd like the Bertuzzi treatment for hunting down a player in a fit of rage and walloping him in the head, but we all know they won't apply the same standard here. Even though maybe they should. 1 1 5
Bob Long
Reilly will get 5 imo. It was really stupid and could have been career ending for both players. Makes me wonder what's going on in that leafs room. 1

If this sends them on a losing streak it could be fun to watch tho, only because no one was hurt. Very dumb thing to do. Leafs pretty much have to pay anything now for Tanev too, to save their season. Edited February 12 by Bob Long 1
BPA
A $5k fine. Probably 2 games as that is probably the least they could do since they gave Zads 2 games.
EdgarM
I think 25 games for this one for Boulerice on Kessler.
nux_win
Get out the dartboard. I've been following the NHL for a long time and I have yet to figure out how supplementary discipline works other than a mixture of personal connections and complete randomness (with maybe a whiff of profit motive). Kind of like the on-ice officiating. Go Canucks Go! 1

They have $800k in cap space right now utilizing $13.7M in LTIR. They're running with 12 F, 8 D, and 2 G. Tanev is $4.5M... so maybe a double retention? Getting a 3rd party involved and getting Tanev down to $1.125M? That'd be REALLY costly.

If the leafs let the Islanders back in this, the risk of missing the playoffs is way too high.

RupertKBD
I'm thinking 6 games. Otherwise, why bother with an In-Person hearing? EDIT: It's worth noting that David Perron got 6 for a similar hit on Artem Zub and both players had a clean suspension record prior to their actions. Combover
2 games they just wanted a in person hearing to apologized that they have to give him any suspension , get his autograph and fan boy - tell him how great the leafs are. 2
King Heffy
Really should be at least 10. Sadly, the league is doing Toronto a favor by suspending Reilly.

Kragar
How did Rielly not get a match penalty from that play? Hard to argue there was no intent to injure.
