Round 1 - Boston Bruins (A2) vs Toronto Maple Leafs (A3)

Leafs defence and goalie are suspect. Bruins are all over the place. Going to pick Boston due to goaltending.

Since I've never seen the Canucks win the Cup, what has brought me the most hockey joy so far in my life is watching the Leafs go out in the first round.

I don't know who I want to win this series. If the leafs win, the insufferable fans won't shut the fuck up, and neither will the media. If Boston wins, then rat boy and his band if idiots are in the 2nd round........ can i vote that i hope that they try to kill each other to such an extent that they're dead in the water come the 2nd round?

I was really hoping it would have been Leafs Vs Panthers, as that was a no brainer for Florida. This one, I’m not so sure. Both teams are mediocre. But hoping Bruins pull it off.

Watching Boston choke away a 3-1 series lead to Florida last year brought me immense joy.  Go Leafs.  After that, I hope they get swept in the second round.

Totally agree. The Laffer d-side game is no better than last year. Their goal tending is usually brutal. Bruins will beat them and they will fire another coach. But in the process the HNIC panel will fawn all over Matthews as the Bruins parade around the ice.

One of these years your think they’re going to. The top end talent they have really should be able to make a deep run one of these years…. But hopefully they just keep choking. I far prefer that.

The problem with the Leafs is their high end talent is ALL up front.  If one of them was a defenceman or a goalie, they'd probably have made a deep run already.  Relying on Rielly and bargain bin shopping for defencemen, and a mish mash of goaltenders is hardly a recipe for success lol.  TBH, I think if they let Tavares go and use that cap space on a legit goaltender or top tier defenceman, they'll probably do way better.
