Meh. Not who/what we really need.

Heh, yes, well aware the assets that would take would be better used to address other weaknesses.

He's also basically younger, less solid, lefty Myers... No thanks.

Deslaurier is a beast.

Deslauriers shouldn't cost that much.

He's what you need.

He's got good girth; he's got a real good body.

He's what you want.

Cuz he DROPS THE GLOVES!

Sean Walker is a pending UFA D who could slot in given our injuries, but even then, not all that interesting

Nobody on Philly seems all that interesting tbh

The forwards I'd be interested in would probably cost too much and I'm more concerned about our D

Konecny R/L W, 26yrs, $5.5mx2

Imagine him alongside Pete.

The Flyers are going full rebuild, so they will want young prospect or draft pics in return.  Nucks

would have to put together a trade that includes a cap that is close to Konecny's $5.5m. It would

likely be one of Kuzy/Beau/Garly + a 1st + ?

Kuzy/Beau   Pete    Konecny

Mik    JT   Brock

PDG/Josh   Suter   Garly

Hogs   Blue   Laffy

The Philadelphia Flyers are pretty good this year.  Torts has really kicked their butts in gear and they might just sneak into the playoffs.  Why are they selling so quickly?

Sean Walker is a decent 2nd pairing RD. Probably just a rental though.

He’s 29 years old, only 5’11” (short for a D) and 191 lbs, as well as a UFA next year. Not worth a 1st round pick and I think we don’t have a second round pick next draft. We still need more prospects, especially centres.

This was repeated in the Score today:

The Philadelphia Flyers are itching to make some moves to position themselves for success down the road.

"I can tell you that they're interested and eager in becoming a wheeler and a dealer, but that's not because they're trying to sell off assets," TSN's Darren Dreger said on Thursday's edition of "Insider Trading."

"It's because they want to build a stronger foundation for the future, and they're willing to listen basically ... on every position - not every player, but every position. They feel like they've got the assets to move," Dreger continued.

The Flyers' three pending unrestricted free agents - Nick Seeler, Sean Walker, and Marc Staal - are all blue-liners. They're 30, 29, and 36 years old, respectively. Staal turns 37 in January.

Philadelphia has a core of relatively young talent, with nine players at 24 years old or younger, including Joel Farabee, Owen Tippett, and Bobby Brink. The Flyers' No. 1 goaltender, Carter Hart, is 25. Travis Konecny, the team's leading goal-scorer, is 26. Defenseman Travis Sanheim (who leads the team in points) is 27.

General manager Daniel Briere landed a couple of high draft picks while trading away rearguard Ivan Provorov in the offseason. The GM also dealt away veteran forward Kevin Hayes, bought out defenseman Tony DeAngelo, and let experienced winger James van Riemsdykwalk in free agency.

The Flyers won three of their first five games this season and occupied first place in the Metropolitan Division exactly one month ago on Oct. 23. They now sit fourth at 10-8-1 on the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday, a time when NHL clubs typically take the opportunity to evaluate how they've started the campaign.

That's exactly what I thought. They're right in the playoff race. Unless management knows that the Torts effect will surely wear off towards the end of the season.

If that's their approach it'd probably cost more than we're willing to pay for any of their top players

Sounds like a competitive retool

This has Edmonton written all over it.

To Philly: Draisaitl + Bouchard

To Edm: Hart + Couturier + Sanheim

Blockbuster! Addresses the 2 biggest holes on Edmonton and Lets RNH move up to take Drais spot with McD. Philly gets their foundational 1C.

Why do Couturier and Sanheim agree to go to Edmonton?
