He had a good run.  Too bad he couldn't help push us over the top in 2011.

 

With a hockey mind like his though, I wonder if he wouldn't mind being a part-time/on-call scout for a team (amateur or pro) for whatever locale he and his wife decide to settle down in.

He had a good run, good on him for stepping aside sooner than later if that was his intention, gives the Jets a chance to find a replacement sooner than later. 

 

Wonder who it'll be.

sounds like a genuinely good person and someone who had a big impact on a lot of people in hockey. The sport of hockey is shaped around people like Rick, and I wish him and his family all the best

Great guy who worked hard. Growing up, his dad owned a popular sports store at the local mall. Used to see Rick in there every now and again. Always respected as a Maritimer making it in the NHL and respected even more for finding his way as a coach. A great career! Well done!
