RWJC Posted October 8, 2023 Posted October 8, 2023 (edited) Coghlan. do it. and Bogo in a Schenn type role as a 6-7-8. He’s slow but he’s a solid, hefty vet Edited October 8, 2023 by RWJC 1 Quote
Quantum Posted October 8, 2023 Posted October 8, 2023 Dylan Coghlan is the only player that makes sense for the Canucks to claim. 2 Quote
MeanSeanBean Posted October 8, 2023 Posted October 8, 2023 One Dylan Coghlan, please and thank you 1 Quote

The Duke Posted October 8, 2023 Posted October 8, 2023 Canucks have had lots of chances to sign depth RD - is Coughlan the best of the bunch? Quote
Jess Posted October 8, 2023 Posted October 8, 2023 Lafferty replaces Studnicka I guess? I figured Joshua and Aman would take the spots, but I guess they want Joshua/Aman to fight to avoid being the 13th forward. Also a bit concerned that Wolanin will be claimed. Not really a fan of keeping Juulsen and Brisebois with the NHL club. Wolanin is considerably better IMO. Quote

Western Red Posted October 8, 2023 Posted October 8, 2023 I've put a feeler out to Coghlans family member, will update if I hear anything. 1 Quote
Snoop Hogg Posted October 8, 2023 Posted October 8, 2023 Kyle Clifford, come on down! Just kidding. I would be okay with claiming Bogosian though. Quote
Trebreh Posted October 8, 2023 Posted October 8, 2023 Coghland looks like an ez claim but what if we’re waiting for Pachal from Vegas to be waived? Quote

Billabong Posted October 8, 2023 Posted October 8, 2023 (edited) I like bogosian to bring in some more “winning pedigree” adds depth, place holder for bear, only 850k and UFA at end of the year He’ll drop the mitts and could be “schenn 2.0” Edited October 8, 2023 by Billabong 3 Quote

I’d be happy with either - but would have also been excited with Pachal or Bernard-Docker too. Sure seems like we need to just put in a damn claim already. If RD gets thin this year Allvin’s going to hear about it despite an overall very good offseason. 1 Quote
Conscience Posted October 8, 2023 Posted October 8, 2023 Wouldve kept hirose down instead of risking wolanin, they wouldve both got opportunities later in the year 2 Quote
elvis15 Posted October 8, 2023 Posted October 8, 2023 I think we stand pat at this point, might have preferred Bjork to Coughlan myself but it seems the Canucks are ok with who we have. Wolanin's going down, but Hirose is coming back up. That could partly be for cap implications, but it doesn't signal us planning on another move using waivers. Quote
Diamonds Posted October 8, 2023 Posted October 8, 2023 Didn't Vegas just claim Denisenko? Was it literally just to piss off Florida? 2 Quote

qwijjibo Posted October 8, 2023 Posted October 8, 2023 Armia on waivers. Montreal sending the message that if you earn a spot in camp they'll make space. Quote
Trebreh Posted October 8, 2023 Posted October 8, 2023 Who beat Coghlan out of a job in Carolina? Wasn’t he a regular and a promising player for them? Quote
PhillipBlunt Posted October 8, 2023 Posted October 8, 2023 Armia, Bogosian, and Clifford. The dynasty begins. 1 Quote
Elias Pettersson Posted October 8, 2023 Posted October 8, 2023 Would definitely go after Zach Bogosian. He's an upgrade on Mcward and Juulsen and is a cup champion. Could play on the bottom pairing with Soucy... 1 Quote

They added Orlov and DeAngelo this summer to Slavin, Burns, Skej, Pesce, Jones and Chatfield.... Probably the deepest D core in the league (and a solid D prospect pool too).
