The Canucks are rumored to be offering Andrei Kuzmenko, Nils Hoglander, and a 2024 3rd round pick. Kuzmenko currently has played 31 games, scoring 8 goals and 11 assists, totaling 19 points. Nils Hoglander, another promising talent, has contributed 10 goals and 5 assists in 34 games this season. In return, the Canadiens are rumored to be trading Sean Monahan, Johnathan Kovacevic, and a 2025 2nd-round pick. Monahan, a crucial player for the Canadiens, has scored 9 goals and 12 assists in 34 games this season. While Kovacevic has added 4 goals and 1 assist in 33 games this season. Would you? Can't see JR and PA unwinding their good work with stupidity. If the Canucks trade Kuzmenko, I have to believe it's for picks and cap space. Monahan has been a lot better since going to Montreal but still wrong age, not filling a need. Don’t need another bottom pairing D either. Monahan who prolly won’t be re-signing at 2mil.. a waiver pickup player and a 2nd? So you lose 2 forwards and get 1 player back and a 7/8th defenceman? If their goal is to cap dump kuzmenko next year for no reason I’m sure there’s plenty of teams will take him.. on top you are getting rid of hoglander which is pretty much same as monahan production wise.. but under team control.. Demko Posted December 31, 2023 Share Posted December 31, 2023 I can see both Hog and Kuz being in trade discussions but not both at once and definitely not for an aging player that doesn't bring more than these players already do, unless it's for a solid top 4 RHD who is cap controlled.
