It has shades of Marchand using Sedin’s face as a punching bag. I would have loved to see Petey get up and push back, regardless of the fact there are five Preds there. But he’s not that type of player. That’s ok, but he does need to get his game on track.

Absolutely. One thing I've noticed, is the timing. They aren't doing ANYTHING when guys like Josuah, Miller, Zadorov or Myers are on the ice. What a bunch of yellow bellied sackless tool bags.

Petey will destroy Josi next game. Going to make him cry. And all the MOFU’s who have been saying trash about Petey will eat dirt and crawl (like the cowards they are) back under their bridges.

EP needs to stop falling down like a little bitch all the time.

While EP does fall down a lot, you can't blame him for this one as he shouldn't be expecting to get hit.

He should be expecting it though. He`s been cheap shot before, and it`s the playoffs. Teams will take any chance they can get to lay a little extra pain and suffering. Petey needs at least be aware that there are 5 larger pumped up guys barreling towards him.

He was dejected and pouting with his head down heading to the bench after being scored on.

Its playoffs...players should always be engaged with the play, whether or not the whistle has blown, or the puck is in your vicinity or a goal had been scored.

I for one, still think its a cheap shot, but those have and will continue to always happen in the playoffs.

I miss pissed off angry petey spitting out curses and yelling after a goal is scored as opposed to the sad looking fellow who got bowled over.

That's the issue, could have been a dangerous act on or result to Petey. The officials are there, to block any Canucks from initiating with the Preds right after as they celebrate but no official protects the player's safety or conduct of the game.

Nothing came of it but more stress on Petey at the end of the day but there is a standard to uphold completely missed by those tasked to uphold it.

Funny with all your reactions because Brendan Morrison said he laughed and said that is playoff hockey. Then, Jovo agreed with him. It worked for Lazoun because Petey needed to be talked to as he sheepishly went back to the bench and then played scared for many shifts after. Canucks need a Lazoun.

This.

We need a tough Swede ala Peter Forsberg... not another run of the mill type.

Brendan Morrison laughed.  Bieksa commented that EP needs to start using his reverse hits.    This doesn't need to be hashed over,  we can't fight his battles for him.

Petey needs to sprout a pube. Can't be taking that lying on his ass. Get up and score a goal go celly infront of preds bench.

The Sedins were pushed around and heavily criticized early in their careers too.   What EP is experiencing now,  was similar to an emotional regular season game (pre-lockout).   Should be careful with the monikers, the media was pretty relentless (accurate or not) calling them "the sisters" etc.   Maybe this is something EP needs to go through as well.   Tochett and Foote can't play the game for him.   He's limited physically in the same way Patrick Kane and a lot of other stars were and have been.   Think he try's to draw penalties and it works in the regular season.    It's not going to work in the post season unless it's a scoring chance, or something pretty egregious.   So yes, he's going to need to battle through it.

QHs is.   Not sure if their bodies are going to make it through 20 plus games like the ones they've had to endure so far.    At the very least, they will know what to expect and what to focus on going forward.

Also like to see our team nail a few more of their guys as a response.    Lauzon should have a target on his back now.   So should Josi.

Edit: Not to get to far ahead of ourselves,  also don't see another team that will engage the same way NSH has to either.    Brunette has a decent team playing as a unit, blocking shots and targeting our stars and anyone else available for a hit.    We line up well against the teams likely to come out of the first round.   LA is the only other team that would play us like NSH, and they aren't as big either.
