Popular Post Breadnbutta Posted May 4, 2024 Popular Post Posted May 4, 2024 Canucks in 4. Nashville gave us a good defense lesson. Edmonton can't play defense we will shut them down. Our 3rd stringer is better than their starter. SWEEP 3 4 2 1 Quote

Miss Korea Posted May 4, 2024 Posted May 4, 2024 A fantastic breakdown of the various systems used by both teams. In short: give the puck to McJesus (down low) or Huggy (up high). 2 Quote
Popular Post Jess Posted May 4, 2024 Popular Post Posted May 4, 2024 My brain says Oilers win this in 5 or 6, but my heart bleeds blue and green, so I'm voting for Canucks in 7. 3 1 1 1 Quote
Sapper Posted May 4, 2024 Posted May 4, 2024 This should be a great series .... The NHL doesn't give a shit which of the 2 Canadian teams wins so we.may actually see decent officiating Oilers will score 2 to 3 per game ..... We need EP and a few others to show up this series as defense and goal tending alone won't best the Oilers like it did with the Preds 1 Quote
Fanuck Posted May 4, 2024 Posted May 4, 2024 Need to exploit Edm suspect defense and pressure the goalie who's playing well. Won't beat Edm by setting NHL record for least amount of shots in 2 rounds. Stay out of box and commit to their system that got'em here. 1 Quote

Rip The Mesh Posted May 4, 2024 Posted May 4, 2024 I truly think the Canucks take this in seven; I'd say six but I know some of the players are a bit fickle. None the less, odds or no odds we'll win. 3 1 Quote
Mando27 Posted May 4, 2024 Posted May 4, 2024 My blind homerism says Canucks in 5, but we are missing our starting goalie. Quote

g_bassi13 Posted May 4, 2024 Posted May 4, 2024 I think we match up pretty well against the Oilers. I see a lot of pessimistic people, but it's also not like this is an Oilers team that has a history of deep playoff runs. The Canucks are pretty good at taking a team and dragging them to their level, even if they're as high octane as the Oilers. It'll obviously be way more open than the Predators series, but that goes both ways, and the Canucks have shown the ability to explode offensively, even if they did most of that at the beginning of the season. The Oilers did look really, really good against the Kings, but the Kings barely had any business being in the playoffs anyways. I'm going to say Canucks in 6, because there's something to this team's ability to grind things out. It especially bodes well over a best of 7 series. They won't go down easy. 1 1 Quote

Rip The Mesh Posted May 4, 2024 Posted May 4, 2024 (edited) Oilers depend so heavily on just 3 or 4 players, is what makes me think Tocchet will take advantage of that. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Edited May 4, 2024 by Rip The Mesh 1 2 Quote
Trebreh Posted May 4, 2024 Posted May 4, 2024 Canucks in 5. once we frustrate the two whiners they will start throwing hissy fits. our sleeper agent Kane will make sure we get a lot of stupid penalties from the oil. 1 Quote

And as for their offense, PP 9 from 20. And if you count the fact that Dubois and Doughty were only back on the ice for a few seconds after their penalties, it would be 11 from 20. As for regular season, they allowed only 14 goals more than we did. And scored 15 more goals than we did. I do believe we can win this series however we are going to have to start scoring more. And play disciplined hockey. The Oilers are not going to be easy beats. 4 1 2 Quote
40yrfan Posted May 4, 2024 Posted May 4, 2024 If Petey can find some room in this series, and we stay out of the box are chances are good. 4 Quote
King Heffy Posted May 4, 2024 Posted May 4, 2024 Canucks in 5. Edmonton still has absolute trash on their blueline and a captain with severe character issues. The Oilers are not a good hockey team and they're about to get exposed. Quote
