Their top end is undeniable… but even with improved structure, their D beyond Ekholm and goaltending are huge wild cards.

Same thing I see, I think this is going to be a long series, but Vancouver has better defense and better overall depth.

Somebody pass Pettersson the smelling salts!

We gotta play Silovs while he is playing this well and Demko is hurt.  Desmith isn't bad but Silovs is way closer to Demko.

Silovs ceiling is way higher than Casey.

DeSmith is an experienced career back up who probably has a higher floor than Silovs, since he's so young.

But i agree, Arty is dialed in, it would be silly not to play him.

Can Mikheyev show up this series. We need his speed. I'd maybe even move him to play with Lindy and Garland to give that line more speed against Mcdavid

Ya that's not a bad idea. Put Joshua with EP40 and Hoglander to give them some size and truculence.

We need Mikheyev to start scoring some goals. He's done it in the past. Hopefully he can turn up and give us a good series.

I'd reunite Blueger with Dak and Gnarly, and play a speed line of Lindholm between Mikheyev and Lafferty.  That would put PDG on Petey's line though.  Can't remember if they've been together before and if so, was there chemistry

Think so?  Againat McD and Drain, after CD played so well against them?

you're pulling the guy who just pitched the 1-0 shutout in an elimination game?

everybody keeps telling me the regular season means nothing now, I guess that applies to desmith's performance against edmonton too.

Go with the hot hand.

Casey over commits and was out of position on more than a few Nashville goals.

Arty plays more between the posts.

I think you keep going with Silovs until he shows you a reason not to.

Maybe on a short leash if he poops the bed in the first period.

Who would the Vegas impact our start?

their building isn't available for wednesday, meaning they'd need the tuesday timeslot.

edit: or rather, it may be colorado's building that isn't available, but nevertheless the same principle applies.

Petterson needs to stay in his feet, every shift he goes down too easy - you can tell he is trying to sell a penalty

that may come back to bite him in the ass

It already has.

He hasn't got a call in his favour since all star weekend.

I wish we had someone "disposable" like that.

I mean, Big Z is a great deterrent for us but I'd hate to lose him for any games. Gone are the days of having someone who can just play that role.

Juulsen could earn hero status... so could Podz, MDG or Lafferty even Myers, although I'd hate to lose him for part of the playoffs.
Still think it would be a good trade off...

Thing is teams shouldn't have to make adjustments according to how the officials are deciding to call a game. In other trades if you suck at your job your gone. There needs to be consistency. The stripes shouldn't be the stars of the show. And it should be regular season and play offs. It can be frustrating. As soon as my team bows out so do I. To many inconsistencies for me to put up with, for me to want to support anything other than the team I love

No arguments from me on that one King.
It is so frustrating so see the same year after year...

Some refs call it like the regular season, and some put the whistles away.
But its when they start to mix it up during the game it gats frustrating.
it is, what it is...

I think the team is confident with Silovs, and the crease is his to lose.  If he struggles, DeSmith will be in.

They are volatile, their special teams in the first round make them even more unpredictable. I think their PK was what.. 12/12 while their powerplay went 9/20? I'd be surprised if the Oil don't get their share of powerplays, this series will probably be more open than our series against Nashville, or their series against LA.

Goaltending is a wildcard for both clubs imo, neither DeSmith or Silovs are Demko, and Skinner has shown he can be both shaky and lights out. Silovs has looked very good but he's still inexperienced at the NHL level, either tender stumbling could be the difference maker.
